Question about Toshiba Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Hello there Please could you help ? I have been experiencing intermittent USB problems recently, to the extent whereby I have certain devices which are operable, i.e. external HD, PDA, external speakers, although certain devices such as wireless receiver for mouse/keyboard (which once did work) head-phones and now even my i-phone do not operate, although device manager sees them, they are shown with yellow exclamation with Code 1 ??? I have attempted to re-install new driver (Intel Chipset) as well as running registery cleaner etc. Is there anyway of reapplying USB 2.0 EHCI driver to try and fiz this problem as much web research has so far proved fruitless ? Yours in anticipation Tommy

Contact Toshiba.com and download fresh BIOS firmware and drivers that are more up to date. It is realy easy to do once you connect to Toshiba.
This will sort your problem out and update your laptop,

I experienced the same problem (my USB device ). try these steps:
1. Start, Control Panel,
2. Performance and Maintenance,
3. Administrative Tools,
4. Computer Management,
5. Disk Management,
6. Find the USB drive (usually the last storage device before the optical drive),
7. Click on the USB drive,
8. Right click on it and you will see the options (New Partition or Format)
9. Follow the instruction (I chose FAT32), but please do NOT chose Quick Format.

Hello, I recently purchased all new computer components, including a Diablotek EPIC ATX Mid Tower case. I have the system complete and running. At first I plugged a USB device into the front left USB...

Hi Red,

I had a similar problem on a different case though. They might have similar causes.

The front usb port circuit board was connected to the MB with a ribbon cable. The prior owner had the cable attached backwards. It worked fine, until you plugged in a USB device, instant crash.

Can't say for certain this is what is happening with you, but it is a possibility.

I'm sure you already know, pin 1 is the striped cable. On the board pin 1 has an arrow.

Best regards

Mike

My pendrive not pick up by my system and not

Hello,
You need to certain things.
  • If your pen drive is not being picked by any system, it is vital to see what the error message it gives.
  • If it says: USB device not recognized there is nothing more you can do. It means that the device driver installed in the pen drive is either missing or is corrupt or even was not installed (if you purchased it recently). What you can do is to get it replaced from your retailer.
If it says something else, please inform me, I will be following up your problem.

We are always there to help you out.

Regards.

The most common cause of intermittent problems is a poor ground connection.Check the engine and the chassis grounds for tightness and clean surfaces.

Sony Walkman NWZ-A826 will not conect to laptop via usb cable

I experienced exactly the same problem on my laptop (Vista Home Premium) after upgrading to NIS 2009.

From Control Panel, I went to Device Manager. Under Portable Devices there was a yellow exclamation mark aginst my walkman (Micosoft Code 19 error). I read around a bit before deciding to click Uninstall. Once that was complete, I clicked on Scan for hardware changes, and hey presto my walkman was recognised again.

This is almost certainly connected with NIS 2009 installation as my walkman was recognised by another laptop (XP) which is NIS 2009-free.

Craked mp3 screen.

Hello paulgilby,

Cracked LCD screens are one of the most common problems experienced with MP3 players. Unfortunately such a failure is considered to be physical damage and is generally not covered by any warranty on the unit.

If you have experience repairing electronics devices you may be able to repair the device yourself. Parts are typically available from the manufacturer. The manufacturer may be able to offer repair services for you as well. However, depending on the extent of the damage it may make more economic sense to simply replace the unt.

Hand-set Intermittant and clicking

If all your handsets simultaneously recently starting having this problem, the first start would be replacing your base after you have determined a site problem as cropped up. Did you or a neighbor add any wireless devices lately? Did you move your base? Your problem is a common problem with all cordless devices where the base and handsets are not communicating properly with eachother, it is common that it is interference, or your radio modules in your base/handsets are failing. Try powering down you base for a while, then give it a try. But I would look at your environment and see if anything changed. Good Luck
