Hi..

hold down the power button and the home button the apple logo should appear, wait for it to see if it loads to the home screen. If this doesnt work, power up your comp and itunes (make sure you got the latest version of itunes) hold down the home button & keep held down whilst plugging into comp, itunes should appear with a message saying an iphone has been detected in recovery mode. Continue with this and restore your iphone.

** If you restore you phone as a new iphone it will wipe ALL data from your phone, if you restore you phone it will bring all of your data back but it MAY also cause this issue to happen again **

Below are some instructions on how to restore your phone incase you get a bit stuck!! hope this helps!!!

Use the following steps to restore your device:

  1. Select the Restore option.
  2. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up option.
  3. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up your device, you should not have to worry about restoring your phone).

  4. Once the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple logo while starting up:

iPhone only: For the iPhone only, after a restore, the iPhone displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. Keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or you see "iPhone is activated." If iTunes does not have an Internet connection, you cannot complete this step.

  5. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup. Once your device is restored and-in the case of the iPhone-in the process of activating,my phone will not charge screen - ht1414_08--set_up-003-en.pnghe following in iTunes:

Phone was charged yesterday and was working fine last night- This morning there is only a black screen / on/off button does nothing What is prob

Take out the battery and wait for 2 minutes. Re-insert the battery, try booting. If it doesn't work, then check whether the battery is charged or not.Give it for charging, wait a few moments it wont start charging immediately if fully discharged. Kindly comment if the problem persists.

perhaps the contacts are dirty. you can try scraping them with a needle or better yet go to an electonics story and get a liquid contact cleaner.
