It sounds like the shutter is stuck. You can try to spray some compressed air into the lens assembly, to free up any stuck gears (dust and dirt get inside and jam the gears up). You can also try to tap the camera on a palm on a hand, in case the gears are jammed. Other than that, the camera will need servicing. Get an estimate first, since the cost of repair can be high.
