Have you dismantled this recently? If so, check that the video cable from the screen to the motherboard is firmly in its socket.
If you have not, then try to connect it to an external monitor and see if the problem goes away, that will eliminate the graphics chip if it does. You then need to look at the screen itself, checking all connections are tight. Normally with a white screen, the backlight is working and I would think the inverter is too (although not definate), and it would apppear to be the connection between the mobo and screen.
If it still persists, there is a much deeper issue with the motherboard
