Replacing X-Drive in PDP-4340HD (power supply problems)

The plasma screen would turn on (green light) when ON-button pressed but then after a few seconds, light would switch to flashing red standby light (11 flashes). Pioneer says it sounds like it's a power supply issue (I think it's a common problem as seen on Fixya.com). Repair guy says I need to replace the X-Drive which is suppose to be a pc power board. Wants to charge over $300 for the X-Drive plus tax and $270 for labor. Does anyone know what exactly an X-Drive is? What would cause the X-Drive to need to be replaced? (how to prevent the same problem in the future) What's the average cost of an X-Drive, etc.

I am having similar problem. Every time I turned on my TV it shuts off after 2 second and the green stand by light keep blinking in TV and also the Orange rec light keep flashing in Media Receiver. The TV used tuned on after many try and now it doesn't at all. Is this a problem with the TV or the Media Receiver itself. Appreciate if anyone can answer.

Before you call pioneer, you need to be sure your media box had plenty of ventalition on the back.
Secondly,if you could locate another connection cable(one from the media box to the tv)and have it replace your existing one and see if that works.
Once you have tried both troublshootings shown above with no result,at this point, you should call 1-800-pioneer.best time to call will be Tuesday-Thursday at 7am PST.

PDP-4340HD keeps turning off.

Continuous blinks of standby light indicates a fault in the IIC data bus. The main board is likely to be faulty. If you wish to know more Check this link.

Pioneer plasma screen turns itself off. We have had it 6 years and it has never dome this before

Your partial resonance power supply with IC with IGBT switch is a bad. This is just an IC chip it cost about $25.00. I would prefer a tech to change it for you.

Pioneer media receiver won t turn on

If the light on the media reciever doesn't come on then the power supply in that needs to be replaced by a service tech. If you disconnect the 2 cables from the media reciever and the panel and then try to turn on the panel it should light with red and green squares for a few seconds but will turn off as it needs the media reciever to be connected.

Pioneer PDP506-HDG plasma tv

The 3 blinks ( i assume they're blinking in red) means a scan assy problem. Check the scan A & B boards and the Y drive board. Something is shorted and loading down the Vscan voltage of the power supply.
