I have a cyclone peerless electric bike, the problem is that when i start off the motor kicks in fine but then it cuts out again i have to peddle for the motor to kick in again? its got throttle control but thats not much use? & it doesn't tackle hills very well, am using a lead acid battery the motor is 250W...thanks

Put the bike in 3rd, 4th or 5th gear, the higher the better. Sit on the bike, with your hand off the clutch lever, and rock the bike back and forth to rotate the clutch hub. This might free up the lever. You will need to drain the oil and remove the right side casing to see and service the kick starter. If I recall correctly, there is a spring clip that allows the kick gear to engage the clutch hub. The piece could be broken, weak or out of position.

Try adujsting the rev screw on the side of the carb, dont turn it any more than 1/8 at a time, turn it clockwise to increase revs, and anti-clockwise to decrease them

SOURCE: kick start thinggy on the engine as rounded off

Usually a Honda part will fit those pit bikes. Honda 50-150 cc should fit. Take a file and clean up what you can of the splines on the shaft going into the engine. Fully remove the bolt and nut before removing the kickstarter as the bolt is in a groove to help retain the lever. Refit the new lever and tighten down well......Good luck to you...Tim

Flywheel has a keyway that has been sheared or bolt on shaft is loose.Either way you need to pull the flywheel and inspect it...replace keyway..reinstall retorque...Good Luck to you my friend....Tim

Sounds like someone has customised your bike - does it have a RH switchgear?
there shd be 3 connectors for the RH switch in headlamp - a 3 pin & 2 singles, the 3 pin has 2x orange/white + 1x yellow/green, this connects to 1x orange 1x orange/white +1x yellow/green wire which are for the kill + start
The singles are 1x orange/green + 1x white (loom side) which go to 1x orange + 1x white respectively, these are for the brake light
If you are keeping the kill sw then its only the yellow/green wire that can be discarded.You can also follow it back to the starter disconnect sw - junk that - keep tracing it back to the starter solenoid & junk that too. If you want to keep the electrical accessory output terminal then connect that straight to the battery or to the orange wire from the ign sw to the fuse box. You can also junk the thick wires from the solenoid, 1x to batt + 1x to the starter motor
You can junk the starter motor too ( 2 bolts then pull away from sidecase & up at the rear) but make sure you block the hole up!
If you want to bypass the ign sw then disconnect the 4 block from it & jump the red to the orange & also the brown to grey (for lights etc)

Electric bike not starting


If the motor don't start could be for many reason, but I have this problem too and what I find out was that the brake cut power cables who order to the motor not to run when you brake, are doing this even when the bicycle isn't operating, and once I disconnect the brakes from the controller the power return and I can ride the bike again, but doing this on my bike the cut brake function is missing, the one I will like to know how to fix if some body there knows how.....

the wiring or components are worn causing resistence--getta repair manual for the detailed tests----------also when at home run an electric fan at motor when stopped--it cools it fast and gives air cooled engines 3 times the life span

Hi i have a Daelim vee 125 evolution i bought 2 weeks ago and was fine for first week, the electric start has never worked since before i bought it so i have to kickstart the bike, it has all of a sudden...


Sounds like you have some kind of wiring short.Look at all wiring harnesses to see if there is a wear spot on wire sheild.Somwhere on that bike somthing is grounding out.Check wires from battery to motor and make sure there not bad.Sounds like the person who owened it before you was having electrical problems that why it has never started with starter.And now the problem has stopped bike completly.Do yourself a favor to rule out a spark problem.Remove sparkplug from engine, put sparkplug back in wire boot.Holding rubber boot touch and hold spark plug to head of bike.Make sure kill switch and key are in run position and kick bike over.See if sparkplug has crisp blue spark.If so you have a fuel problem.Then i would remove and clean carborator.But this definitly sounds like a short in wiring somwhere.Your gonna have to trace all wires to make sure there isnt a ground.Good Luck...

Fault with electric start on my Suzuki GSF 250 Bandit


Check that the clutch is in, kick stand up, and neutral light ablaze. Then try your start button. When you had it running and hit the button, the starter engaged at a slower speed then the bike engine was turning, which led to the stall. The stall means your starter works. If the starter works when the engine is running then it is wiring. Check your kick stand wiring along with the clutch wires which plug in on the handlle bar or where the clutch cable enters the engine.

Electric bike cuts out while riding


Couple possibilites. If it is just a matter of your battery clips coming undone, tighten the with pair of pliers then reattach. If it cuts out, then reengages when you start pedaling, either your controler is shot, or you have a ground short on your wheel hub. How long does a charge hold, and how often does it cut out?

cut out switch on the motor needs replacing this overheats and cuts of the motor when the motor cools down it will start again you have to keep both filters and cyclone clean and free of dust or after replacement the same will happen again

the automatic cut out switch on the motor needs replacing when the motor gets hot this switch comes in and stops the motor from overheating when the motor cools down the cleaner will work again and cut out again when the motor gets hot if it is not replaced it will eventually burn the motor out after the switch has been replaced both the filter and cyclone need to be cleaned on a regular basis or the same will happen again
