If you are running either Vista or Win7, when someone tries to open a fresh user name, this will cause registry errors as will deleting programmes without uninstalling or just generaly closing the laptop without shutting it down. Letting it go into hybernation/sleep mode and the battery going totally flat then restarting the laptop without coming first out of hybernation, may cause this sort of problem.
There are a few utilities that will fix this problem available on the net, PC Tools, Norton Utilities to name just two.
Hope you clear your errors.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 stuck in windows boot manager file \windows\system32\config\system status: 0xc000014c info: windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing or corrupt ...

Here's part of an article on how to replace that registry file:

Look in the C:\windows\system32\config\regback\ folder.
There should be copies of the registry files stored inside that folder.
They are backed up periodically and stored in that folder.

If you create a MiniWin, BartPE, or a Linux Live CD, you can start the computer from CD and move the file system to the required folder, C:\windows\system32\config\.

Keep getting this message <window

Hello,
  • "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
    <Windows root>\system32\hal.dll.
Please re-install a copy of the above file."

  • "<Winnt_root>\System32\Hal.dll missing or corrupt:
Please re-install a copy of the above file."

  • "Cannot find \Windows\System32\hal.dll"

  • "Cannot find hal.dll"
The "missing or corrupt hal.dll" error displays shortly after the computer is first started. Windows XP has not yet fully loaded when this error message appears. CauseCauses of the "missing or corrupt hal.dll" error include, naturally, a damaged hal.dll DLL file or a hal.dll file that has been deleted or moved from its intended location.Additional causes may include a damaged or missing boot.ini file or possibly a physically damaged hard drive.

Please let me know you have any further questions or concerns.
Thanks.

I'm trying to uninstall Panda Cloud so I can install the new version. I can't do that because it returns an error 11 status. (No Uninstall and no antivirus). If I go into security it says Panda Cloud is...

Re-install program then go to safe mode and use control panel / add/remove programs

If that doesnt work you can download from Panda a program to get rid of all files for Panda

failing that you need to know what you are doing (Do not attempt if you arent confident) by accessing the registry and deleting threads that have Panda in it.

NB = back up registry first.

My compaq computer has a missing registry data file

Your best be would be to reinstall Windows from the CD. As long as you don't format the drive, your data should remain intact.

My Cd-Rom doesnt work for my Acer Notebook 2930

Did it give any error code, like Error code 39? And does the DVD/CD Drive appear in My Computer?

Normally the CD drives use the default Windows drivers. Try right clicking the HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA T50N ATA Device in Device Manager and choose uninstall. Then reboot the computer and Windows will find the device and re-install drivers automatically.

If you are still getting the error, it may be an update or some other program that added data to the DVD's driver data in the registry. Try this:

1) Close all open programs

2) Click on Start, Run, and type "regedit" (without the quotations) and press Enter. Back up (File > Export) the registry before you make any changes)

3) Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
  • SYSTEM
  • CurrentControlSet
  • Control
  • Class
  • Left Click and Highlight: {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} **Make sure you choose this exact key**
4) This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

  • UpperFilters
  • LowerFilters
  • UpperFilters.bak
  • LowerFilters.bak
5) If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed on the right hand side, right-click on them and choose Delete

6) After deleting the keys, close the Registry Editor

7) Reboot your computer

8) Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.
