Looking for the black knob on the deck that the tape runs under

The pinch roller is what it is called. The tape is pinched between it and the drive motor axle. We need to know what the make and model of the unit is.

Ad-f410 change pinch roller

Why do you want to change the Pinch Roller? Most of the time they just need a good cleaning and other things in the deck like back tension checked. Pinch Rollers are only changed if they are cracked and I have seen few cracked Pinch Roller in 40 years.

Cassette gets entangled, and does not play well

Cassette tape machines will occasional require maintenance after a certain period of usage. First open the cassette door and remove the tape and any broken tape remaining inside. Some models allow you to remove the cassette door allowing you to have better access to clean the unit. Next you will need to clean the capstan with alcohol and a Q-tip. The capstan is the metal post which the rubber wheel (pinch roller) pushes against to drive the tape across the tape head. Basically clean all the shiny metal parts including the tape head. Some of the tape residue may be difficult to clean, I use Tricloroetilene which has been regulated by the government, but you may try a product called Goof Off to clean the difficult parts, but it could eat the plastic and rubber parts so be careful. Next use a rubber cleaner on the pinch roller so you do not dry the rubber out, or it will become useless. The other problem is the cassette may be driven by a motor and belts. The belts may need to be replaced and the pulleys cleaned. For this you will need to disassemble the unit to access the belts but the cleaning of the pinch roller and capstan may fix your problem, if not you need to open it up to replace the main belt.

R360 wont feed paper in to printer

You need to clean the pinch roller at the back of the printer using a cleaning sheet. These come with packs of Epson Photo Paper and are slightly tacky which removes the paper dust and grime from the pinch roller.

You are missing pinch roller lock, its like piece of plastic tube 2 or 3mm (1/8 inch)
This part is not available individually as you need to purchase complete "pinch roller assy" and fixing it requires skills and experience of camera repair.

The probem as told on another site (sorry, can't remember to give proper credit) is that the pinch roller is not making contact with the capstan. THis is exacly what happened to my 1800 after sitting for a long time with no use. THe solution was to manually excersize the lever going to the solenoid to unstick the mechanism. Then, voila, pinch roller pinches, tape moves, UVW1800 happy again.
