SOURCE: Chamberlain Liftmaster Pro. Garage door Problems closing

The sensor eye - or more likely, the other end, the sensor light - probably got knocked out of alignment. The eye should have an LED on it - possibly one that glows green when it's ready to close or red when it's obstructed or out of alignment. Try adjusting the light until the LED on the receiver glows green.

SOURCE: My Chamberlain garage door opener only opens 8 inches.

Sounds like you have broken door springs or a bad drive gear. Take a good look at the springs and then remove the cover and look at the gear. It is white nylon and is just in front of the motor.

SOURCE: need to program my chamberlain #953CB from a working gate opener

the chamberlin remote only work with a chamberlin reciever, if you have this it will be a silver box that looks like diamond plate material inside you operator, take of the front cover on this box and you will see a black button that says program push and hold this button down then push your remote button down while holding it close to the box you will see a yellow led flash and then it is set. if you only have a single button remote you will only be able to set it to one operator.

SOURCE: We can't close our garage door

Make sure neither light on the sensors is flickering. Tweak them a bit to make sure they are aligned properly.

Why will my garage door not go down?

Safety sensors! The two sensors on either side of the track of your door. There should be a solid light illuminated on both.Blinking, flickering or absence of light indicates either misalignment, faulty wiring, failing sensors, or interference from the sun. Usually its the first one. You can bend them to realign. If they are not functioning at all, check the wiring connections. If all else fails, replacement of the sensors is necessary.

My elite gate won't close. the charge ok led light is not on. checked everything and it's ok. switch limit switch on both sides works fine except when trying to close, it won't run.

If you disengage the motor does the gate slide easily? if not that could be the problem, most gate control boards have a sensor that detects the current drawn by the motor, if the gate hits an obstruction or is jammed the motor draws more current and the sensor stops the gate moving. It could also be a problem with the safety sensor, to check this locate the safety sensor input on the control panel and bridge the 2 contacts if the gate then works the safety sensor is the problem.

Garage Door opens with remotes but does not close with the remotes

Clear any obstruction from between the safety sensors. Loose leaves, trash, and dirt on the lens of the sensor itself are all examples of things that can obstruct the sensor's signal.
  1. Check each sensor for a steady glowing indicator light. If both indicator lights are on, or if one indicator light is flickering, the sensors may be slightly misaligned. To check for misalignment; obstruct the beam of the sensors so that they cannot see each other. When the beam is blocked, the indicator light on one of the two sensors will temporarily go out. This is the receiving sensor. Remove the obstruction and loosen the wing nut on the back of the receiving sensor. Adjust the receiving sensor until the green indicator light goes out, if not already out, then realign until the green light is bright and steady, then retighten the wing nut. This usually takes a couple of attempts before it is back in alignment.
  2. If an indicator light is out on one or both sensors, check for a possible loose or shorted wire. Sensor wires are attached to the white and black terminals on the back or side panel of the overhead motor unit. Check that they are securely connected to each terminal. Also check the wires for any breaks, especially anywhere they are spliced together.
