Blackjack 2 frozen on ATT Logo

  • kellertomk Nov 03, 2008

When I power my phone on, the screen initially shows a generic Windows Mobile picture followed by the ATT 3G Broadband Connect animated picture which is then followed by the AT&T logo. It does not go beyond that point in it's "bootup". Taking SIM out and replacing battery makes no difference, it continues to do the same thing.

    Help!

My phone just recently started having the same issue. The calendar icon did not work and my events were not displayed on the home screen, so I turned the phone off and back on again. Now it won't boot past the AT&T splash screen.

I am also having a similar problem. My phone does not go beyond the windows logo. Anyone have any solutions?

  • jaz0212 Nov 28, 2008

phone goes past windows mobile past 3G network, and gets stuck on at&t forever. then it goes to missing or invalid sim regardless of sim status. It was a phone of my friends who gave it to me. my sim card works fine in my original phone.

I have been having trouble with the internet as well as not reciving my email. In order to remedy this I usually have to turn off the phone for a few minutes and then I can turn it on and everything works fine, for a while that is. today when i turned it off and then back on i got as far as the att logo and that was it. I took it to att and they just tried to give me another and said that they could not transfer any data.

Phone worked yesterday and this morning with a full charge it gets stuck at the ATT logo.

Snow storm in La yesterday...having trouble accessing voicemail so I powered down and then powered up...gets stuck on At&T screen!!! Warranty just ended. Sounds like a common problem with Blackjack...or is it AT&T? Dunno...but lost as to what to do.

I ran into the same exact issue. Here is a simple fix:

With the phone off, hold UP on the center D-pad and then power on. It tells you to press 1 to reformat and reboot, or press any other key to skip. Note that this process will erase all files (contacts, 3rd party applications, calendar entries, pictures, videos, etc.) and settings on your Blackjack and make it as fresh as the day you bought it. The hard reset fixed the problem in about 30 seconds.

If you talk to ATT person, they will simply ask you to get a new phone. I had debated getting a new phone but finally searching on the web helped find another person who had the exact same issue and mentioned it. So I thought I would share with others. Good luck.

Perfect, fixed by Blackjack immediately! I was looking at $2-300 for a new phone, and/or an obnoxious 2 year contract!

I need more info... what did you to with it? Did you try to unlock it? Does it just get stuck or does it display 'phone freeze' or 'contact service provider'?

With best regards,

Frozen at windows mobile screen? How to unfreeze?

Hi,the phone needs to be flashed to be restored back to normal working condition, its infected with a virus, and only flashing the entire phone memory can get rid of the virus, however this can be done by a qualified phone technician in your area.

Texting won't work

I know this doesn't help but I'm having the same problems, and I had the same problem in the past. Right now I'm not using it but when I had it in the past I had to have a master reset at the AT&T store. It deleted everything (but the SIM contacts) and my phone worked fine. I don't think blackjacks are very durable phones--I've been through 3 of them.

I would recommend hard reseting it. That should reinstall any standard programs, files, and applications. Good Luck!

I dropped my blackjack II on the concrete the other day, at first when the screen was supposed to black out it would go to a white screen, then when it stopped doing that the screen would flicker off and...

Fixing it will most likely cost close to getting a new one. Getting a new phone is certainly the easiest answer.

The problem with screen damage, is that most of the screens use lcds (liquid crystal displays) if damaged its hard to repair something that is mostly liquid.

Sorry about your phone. I hope its insured.

Blackjack 2 won't turn on

Hi svstskier,

This is actually a bug in the BlackJack II's firmware. If you power the BlackJack II off, but you're unable to power back on, try removing the battery for about 10 seconds, then reinsert the battery and power back on. The power button should work now.

(At the moment there's no permanent fix for this.)

Does that adequately resolve the issue?
Are you turning the BlackJack II off to conserve battery? While flying? Something else?

Thanks!
Jonathan

Memory card doesnt stay in my blackjack!!!

The blackjack micro SD card goes in gold pins facing up,
you must push it past the edge of the phone for the lock to
engage, use a car key to push the card all the way in.
and the same to remove the card.
