Question about Canon EOS 500D / Digital Rebel T1i Digital Camera

1 Answer

After I take picture, the picture is captured & shown but when I try to view,(by pressing playback) it displays 'Cannot playback Image' with a big question mark. When I downloaded & tried to view those pictures, its not displayed. Whatever viewer I use, it says viewer cannot open this picture as format is not supported. The format is Jpeg. I was using the camera for the first time in my trip, the pics taken for half day are fine, but later half it started giving the above error.I had not made any changes in settings. Please someone show somelight on this problem & let me know how to get back the pictures.

Check to make sure that you did not accidentally change image format from jpg to crw(camera raw). Your camera lcd will only display jpg files and you need special software to view raw files on the pc.

The CCD image sensor of the camera has failed. It is the component responsible for capturing the image the camera is focussed on, display it on the screen and capture it. If its malfunctioning you are bound to see problems like these. Getting the imagesensor replaced should resolve the problem

I have sony v1, unfortunately it was dropped, now the problem arises that you can see previous stored pics in lcd but when you want to capture the image, nothing is displayed and if you take the picture it...

Hi,

Based on the information you've provided it seems that the CCD Image Sensor of the Camera is affected which displays the live view of the Camera and the image which get captured. If the Image Sensor is affected, the previous views of the images and the icons will get displayed as normally, but the live view and the captured images will be distorted or blacked out. You may try power resetting to check if the issue can be resolved.

Performing a manual power reset

Turn off the camera.

Remove the battery pack.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Reinsert the battery pack.

Turn on the camera.

If the issue persists, service may be required.

Thanks for contacting FixYa.

Nikon d40 motnior blank while taking picture.

That's entirely correct. Live view cannot work on SLR's whilst the photo is being taken due to the requirement for the mirror and live view sensor to flip out of the way during image capture.

Live view on SLR cameras is a misleading description, it's really a live preview instead.

How do I have the viewfinder image show in the LCD display

The EOS 350D doesn't have that function (Live View). You need to shoot with the viewfinder. Only later models of D-SLRs have Live View functions (EOS 500D, 50D, 40D, etc). You can however, playback your captured shots by pressing the "Play" button

No LCD image when switched on

The 350D doesn't have this Live View function. You can however, playback photos you've captured on the camera. Pressing the "play" button ought to show those pictures. If nothing appears, make sure you have images on the CF card. If you do but nothing shows up, the LCD is faulty and needs the Canon tech to look at.

Image flicker when viewing pictures in playback mode

You have the camera in Highlights mode.. while in playback use the up,down, right, left pad press it up and it will go through different displays like what settings you had the camera in when you took the picture then there is a graph screen... after that one is the highlights display which is what you have it on. Push up one more time to have it on regular playback mode. The manual explains this much better than I just did. If you have the manual you should check it out if my instructions dont help.

Strange picture appears in CCD

I see this problem everyday : the CCD sensor is faulty ( see enclosed pic from a canon camera with similar specs ) this is why you can not capture normal undistorted images but have no problem with playback .Fortunately Casio will repair this free of charge so contact your agent.1057f04.jpg

Powershot S1 IS trouble shooting in images of lcd monitor

Try playing back pictures you know were captured properly ( either with another properly working camera or with your camera before the problem with quality has appeared ). If the image is ok in playback but 'noisy' in capture mode then the CCD sensor is faulty /on its way out. Ask Canon if they repair CCD faults on this model free of charge.
