Load it up into Itunes (not sure if you need to activate with logon) when it is shown, you can click Restore, which will wipe the device and let you enter your own name.

How do I rename my ipod?

When registering your iPod, iTunes will ask you to give your device a name. If you choose not to give your iPod a unique name when configuring the device, iTunes will often give your iPod the default name of "Owner's iPod." If you grow to dislike your name, or were gifted a used one, changing the name on your iPod is very simple. You can change the name of iPod to whatever you like. Your imagination is your only limit.

Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB cord. iPods will only work with specific USB cords. If you have lost yours, you can purchase a new one from most electronic stores. Open iTunes. While iTunes usually opens automatically when an iPod is connected to your computer, sometimes that fails to happen. Double-clicking on the iTunes icon (you should have it on your computer's desktop) will open iTunes. Scroll down and left-click on the icon for your iPod. You will find it in the left hand-side panel of iTunes. Left-click on the current name of your iPod to highlight it. Type in the new name of your iPod and then left-click anywhere to save. I have it on lock and i bought it from a pawn shop. I don't know my code and how do I unlock it!?!?!?!?!?!?

Plug the iPod usb cable into the bottom of the iPod Nano. 2 Plug the other end of the iPod USB cable into a free USB port on a Mac or pc computer. 3 Open the iTunes application by clicking on the Dock icon on a Mac or using the Start menu on a PC. 4 Click on the name of your iPod Nano under the "Devices" list in the iTunes window. 5 Click on the "Sync" button to establish a connection between your iPod and the computer. 6 Click on the eject symbol next to your iPod's name after the syncing process has finished. 7 Unplug your iPod Nano. The device will be unlocked and you will be able to access all normal features

I received an Apple IPOD from a friend, and I would like to download my music to the IPOD, but the IPOD is registered in her name and will not let me download any music to it. Is there anyway to...

If it's recognised by iTunes you can restore it.This erases everything and resets it back to factory presets. You can then rename it and put your music on without problems.Apple doesn't allow any form of file sharing but doesn't care how many different people use the same iPods.I have 3 -8GB iTouchs',3 -30GB iPods,1 shuffle and 1 nano. All from Pawn Shops, you can get them for 25 cents on the dollar.

Stolen ipod!!

no, replacement plans never cover anything that is stolen. if you registered your iPod with Apple and the serial number comes up from a pawn shop, then you can rightfully reclaim your property. if you did not, then you are unfortunately SOL.

Bought ipod from pawn shop

the Ipod once you hook it up to the computer becomes like an external hard drive. hook it up go into my computer look for what looks like a new drive then open it up. once you do that go to edit select all then go down to delete click on it. it should get rid of all the files that are there. to put new ones on the ipod find the songs that you want and drag and drop them in the ipod drive.
