When i choose an eircom wireless network It asks for a key code. I had to buy a new modem/router to receive signal.

This is the security key - that you must have put in when it was set up for the first time. If you weren't the one that did that and you don't know it then just reset the wireless router (press a small button at the rear, next to the antenna) and it will remove the password - but you will have to configure it again.

How to setup a Wireless Network

1. Connect Your Wireless Router
a. Power off your cable modem and your wired PC.
b. Unplug the Ethernet cable from your cable/DSL modem and plug it into one of the LAN ports on the back of the wireless router. Leave other end of the cable connected to your PC.
c. Connect another Ethernet cable between your modem's Ethernet port and the wireless router's WAN port. (The WAN port should be separate from the other grouped LAN ports.)
d. Power on the modem and watch for the status lights to indicate that it's connected to your Internet service. This may take a minute or so.
e. Plug in the router. The status lights will blink as it runs through its diagnostics; this may also take a minute or so.
f. Start up your wired PC.
2. Configure your Wireless Router
a. Refer to the router's quick-start guide, launch Internet Explorer, and type in the address indicated in the guide.
b. Follow the on-screen setup wizard, which will guide you through the process step by step.
c. Enable your router's security functions. This is very important if you don't want other people attaching to your wireless signal. The options will be WEP and WPA. Both will ask you to enter a key. Depending on the router's manufacturer, you may have to go into Advanced Settings to accomplish this step.
d. Change the default administrator's password, Almost all hackers know them.
e. Change the SSID-the name of your wireless network. Again, hackers know many of the default SSIDs and can use them to hack your network.
3. Install a Wireless PCI Card in a Desktop PC
a. Refer to the card manufacturer's quick-start guide. If necessary, run the software installation program.
b. Power down the PC.
c. Remove the cover.
d. Find an available PCI slot and remove the slot cover from the back of the PC.
e. Carefully insert the antenna through the open slot in the back of the PC, carefully push the card in the slot, and secure it. Replace the cover.
f. Start up the PC. It should recognize and install the new PCI card.
g. Go to the Control Panel, select Network connections, select Wireless Networking connection. Click on Properties button. Click on Wireless Networking tab. Select the wireless networking name (see step 2e). Click on Configure button. Configure your security settings to match the ones on your wireless router.
4. Install a Wireless PC Card in a Notebook PC
Many notebooks have built-in wireless cards. How do i connect another pc to this one?i have an irish eircom wireless router....

You really didn't tell us enough to help, but I can offer suggestions:
If both computers have wireless adapters, all you have to do is to to the networking menu item (varies depending on the operating system which you failed to mention) and make sure you are on the same workgroup on both machines. You should then be able to see each other. You will, however, need to go into Windows Explorer and right-click on the folders you wish to share and enable sharing.
If you don't have wireless capability on the computers, they will have to be connected to the router with cable.
The whole subject of networking is really too large to address here. Guess I need to write a tip on it.
