Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

Turned on the air conditioner, it ran for 5 seconds, then switched off. I now have no power lights or anything on the control panel (a MICOM MKK Control). Have tried turning the power off at the switch for 10 mins then back on again, no luck. Desperately need to fix it, NYE tomorrow and 40+ degree day! Thanks, Jay

As you don't mention error code, out of two reasons, you check one by one.
1. First check manually rotate the blower wheel. If it hard to rotate, blower motor mechanism blocked.Replace bearings or motor.
2.Your indoor coil and room sensor defective. Replace it. Is it helpful.

I have a Haier 12,000 BTU window air conditioner and the thing froze up when i turned it off by the power button the compressor still ran. I had to unplug the unit for it to stop. I thawed the unit plugged...

your wiring is melted or shorted under the electrical access panel where the selector switches are. You will usually see melted wires and burnt ends. Your compressr start wire has melted to a hot. good luck and remember to unplug the unit first

Air conditioning won't work. Maybe no ground

Open your elctrical panel on your fifth wheel and make sure the wire terminals are tight comming in from the electrical power cord.

There could also be a issue with your power converter. Try turning your circuit breakers off and back on.

Dometic control comfort control will not turn heat on or off

I had the same problem. I fixed it by turning off the battery switch to disconnect the battery from the power panel. I then had to turn off the main 110 breakers to shut down the converter. Once all the power was turned off the LED light went off. When I turned the power back on the remote was working fine. Hope this works for you.

Control panel lights constantly flashing

You should have a dedicated line that feeds the equipment power look at your main electrical panel or search around your equipment for a pull out disconnect switch or sometimes they will wire it to a light switch. by shutting down the main power and turning it back on it should reset anything.

PTC153B50AM REPLACED POWER CORD ON RECALL

First off, you need to unplug power from the unit before handling anything on it, not just the master switch on the control board. There is still live power being fed to the unit while it is plugged in!
Now, the clicking sound you are hearing is a faulty relay on the control board. You have to replace the control board. The new ones are available from Amana/Goodman Mfg.. You will find, assuming you have more of these, your other units are going to start doing the same thing. It will be the same problem. When they send out the new control board, make sure you program the board. They no longer come pre programmed. It is actually a huge improvement on the older control board upgrades. Hope this helps, I have 140 of these in my hotel, I know them all too well. Let me know if you have any other questions and please rate this as a fix ya.

After turning the unit on, it clicks to start, but then clicks right back off...

once you switch the unit off mid cycle, it needs time to equalise before it will switch on again.  otherwise check the cap.to start the compressor.

My air conditioner doesn't turn on, what do I look for?

If your room air conditioner doesn't go on at all: 1) Check the power source first: be sure it's plugged in and turned on. 2) Then check the outlet by unplugging the air conditioner and plugging in a light that works (only for standard-voltage models--do not plug a light into a 220/240-volt receptacle!). 3) If the light doesn't go on, the circuit has probably overloaded--check the electric panel or fuse box and reset the breaker or replace the fuse. 4) If the light works, it's likely that the air conditioner's switch is faulty or the thermostat needs adjustment or repair. 5) Be sure the thermostat is set to "cool" and below room temperature. 6) Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for thermostat repair. If adjusting or repairing the thermostat doesn't solve the problem, unplug the unit and call an air conditioning technician.
