Hi,
firs of all remove from the mains. pull out the rubber bed over the platter. check whether there is any lock washer in the center shaft. if have remove it. if not its ok. now pull the platter towards upside by putting the fingers in to the holes provided on the platter. remember pull using ur two hands in opposite direction.

I have two of these decks and they work well apart from when you touch the platter whilst mixing in songs, it makes a grinding noise and slows down. Please help.

You need to adjust the brake mechanism. It sounds like it needs to be tighter. Also, check to make sure the platter is on correctly.

I plugged my gemini pt-1000 turntable into the aux in the back of my stereo, but the sound is very low. Do I need a preamp?

If the amp doesn't have an imput marked phono, or deck, or turntable, the answer is yes. Search for a 'magnetic cartridge pre-amp' via google.

Gemini tt-2000 direct drive. Turntable platter is visibly warped, wow unacceptable. Flutter is also bad, piano suddenly has vibrato. What can be done? This is a new unit, bought last year, but because...

If the turntable platter is visibly warped there nothing you can do to correct this, the only option is contact the manufacture and see if they would be willing to supply you with a replacement part at no charge, especially when you have been moving. But I would check your warranty closely, you just might be in luck.

I just bought a set of Gemini 500 the belt has come off and I am usure how and where it fixes back on???

HELLO
This should be straightforward. Take off the slipmat and lift off the turntable (platter) and you'll see there is a rim on the underside of the platter this is where the belt goes.
Put the belt round that rim and you'll notice a couple of holes in the platter itself. Hold the belt through one of these holes and put it back on the tunrntable while taking notice of the motor position on the deck.
When the platter is in place (still hold belt) and move the platter to the position of the motor pulley and slip it on. Manually turn the deck once or twice to make sure it is in place - DONE! Replace the slipmat.
ENJOY! (:-)

Since it's Direct Drive there's no belt to fall off. There is an electronic brake.

Could your problem have something to do with the Reverse function? Check the L.E.D. Perhaps cycling it will help.

USING THE REVERSE BUTTON:
1. Press the REVERSE (17) button to reverse the rotation of the
PLATTER (2) (the REVERSE LED (17A) will light while in reverse
mode). Press the REVERSE BUTTON a second time to return to
normal play.

One ov my decks (same Gemini PT-1000 II) had the same problem. Just open it and clean the micro switches underneath the big buttons. It worked fine for me.
