Question about Pioneer AVIC-F700BT Car GPS Receiver

Open Question

Hello, I have a Pioneer avic f700BT. the screen seems to be not responsive, and whenever I try push the map button " system startup in progress, please wait" shows up on the screen. the only thing that is working in this unit is the CD player, FM, Am radio. everything else is off! I was wondering if I have to re-install the software and how I can do that? Thank you!

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Firmware for the F700BT is available on the pioneer website.

Software for the PC to be able to create POI's (Points of Interest) is also available from Pioneer.

SOURCE: who supplies map updates for pioneer avic f700bt

Pioneer. They only drop updates for their NAVs every once and a while though. If the update has dropped for your unit you can order the update CDs from them in most cases (only if they don't drop a model that trumps your unit). You better believe that they are going to tax you for it though. I looked into buying an update CD for an old N2 that I had and Pioneer wanted 250.00 for it. I ended up buying a burned copy off of ebay for 5.00 and it worked fine. Go figure... Check pioneers website to see if they even have the update... If they do then you might be able to download it peer to peer and save yourself a few bucks!!! Check out as well. That's where I go to get all of the goodies for free...

Good Luck!!!!

Pioneer avic-f700bt wont power on at all.. the battery was changed . How do i reset it ?

it is possible that it was damaged during the battery replacement.
one thing you can still try is to hard-reset it. the reset button is left of the eject button. press it for 30 seconds. if that fails - contact the repair center

AVIC-F700BT won't work after dealer did some work on it

Have you tried updating the firmware? A new version is available from the Pioneer website. You will need a blank, formatted SD card. Unzip the files from the Pioneer download and copy to the SD card. With the key out of the ignition put the SD card into the unit. Put the key in the ignition and turn to position I to turn on the F700BT. The update takes around 10-15 minutes. Ensure that no unnecessary electrical accessories are on in order to save battery life.

Pioneer Avic-F700BT worked perfectly fine for 7 months but....

My pos just did this today after I got in a hot car (had windows up for security).
Briefly displayed the PIONEER default splash screen, LED lighting was the default ... light/bright pink (to match pioneer?).
Then screen goes black, then backlight gets fully dimmed and LED dims to darks white (R,01G,01B01)

Wouldn't really respond to anything... but plays CD in background.

I had a brainstorm while sitting in my car at ACC (ignition) and reading the lame online TS guide.
I turned my car to ON and put the gear shift in REVERSE.
The screen flashed to the password, and flashed black again....
Some how the system stablelized after some time and I resurrected it*.

* After tinkering I found ALL settings except the NAV data/settings had been lost.
In addition I believe corruption has occured in the memory holding the voice data. TTS... that phone thing voice command wont display when i press down on the Multi-nav? dial. Also system crashes when I try to access language settings. Sometimes a Windows CE error message bled thru reporting a fatal application error. Illegal operation request...

Hope this helps. I think my POS is going back to cartoys before my 30days is up.
