Question about Epson Stylus Multifunction Inkjet Printer/ Copier/ Scanner

Open Question

Printer shows no ink, but has new cartridges. It will not copy or print. I have removed the catridges and reinstalled them. I have reinstalled the driver, but the printer still shows no ink. I have tried to print from the computer, but I get a box showing all cartidges are empty. i have a TX100

My suggestion: Don't buy HP. I have the same region coding problem. All I want to do is buy HP ink, put it in my HP printer and print stuff. Too hard. I've wasted 30 pounds on ink and another 30 pounds on "support" phone calls to HP. Hopeless. I will never buy HP again. Waste of time and money.

I contacted Oddparts.com an excellent resource for refilling and resetting equipment for ink cartridges and they can not find something to reset them with either. People we need to find a solution for this! I refilled the cartridge before it was empty and i do know that the oddparts ink WJ - 1010 will work in them... but of course, the ink reset issue..... I will keep trying or blast! i will return the junk!

ink light on? Check status monitor. Usually after jammed paper, printer trouble to recognized ink. Do change ink tank procedure, unplug and plug again ink tank.

ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Epson Cartridges. !!!!!!!!
That sounds like your problem.

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc.

These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......


I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .

This is the only advice I can give you. If you find this helpful, pls rate me.

Ink cartridge not properly installed


I have gone through all the forums but none of them worked...

The correct solution for the problem is the canon printer needs to have both the color and black catridges present in the printer...
So even if you purchased new black catridge only you need to have the old color catridge to be placed in the place of color catridge....

So it will detect the catridges and if any of the one is empty it asks to select black at the time of printing and simply select it you will get a black print...

So make sure both the catridges either empty or full need to be placed to detect the catridges....

Canon mp 145 scan not working ink catridge empty... scan wont work without ink catridge?


Hi, The scanning unit is independent from printing unit. You can scan even with empty ink cartridges. At sametime, if you wanna copy documents, you need both scanning and copying units to work. Try reinstalling the Driver from the provided drive CD.

Computer tells printer to print but printer wont print


Sir,
When u are inserted new catridge. it will gives one print. then follow the instruction on the printed sheet. Scan it again then u r catridge will set for Printing.

I have replace all of my ink jet cartridges and it sees the black and magenta, but I am still getting the ink empty error message for cyan and yellow. I have removed and reinstalled atleast 20 times,...


did you make sure to remove the stickers covering the print heads? double check. other than that you can clean the heads with a qtip and isopropyl alcohol, they may be dirty with old ink and not able to see the new cartridge properly.

Hi,

The issue you have described regarding your printer is mainly due some dirt on the printer drum, As most of the issues like this get solved when you clean the Drum, However before you start troubleshooting your printer you should try few steps to check where actually the issue lies is it the Drum or the cartridge or is it with the driver software or even with the document file software program that you are trying to print form, so try these steps below to know where the issue lies here is what you need to do,

Try to scan and print a document, by using the copy option on the printer control panel directly (Check if the print is good, if so then the issue is with either the printer driver or the document software you are trying to print).

If you find that the print output is the same which means the printer again printed a complete black page try to clean the Drum of the printer with a soft dry cloth. Please make sure that you completely disconnect the printer power cord and leave the printer powered off for sometime before you remove the printer cartridge and clean the Drum.

Alternately you can also try the old cartridge if you still have it with you just to check if the print out is fine with it, with this we can isolate the issue as we will come to know that the Toner cartridge is gone bad and you can then replace it.

However if you find the copy was fine then you can try printing a test page and check if its good. (If you find that if the test page prints okay, then try printing any other document form a different program however if you find that the test page looks like the same I mean if it is completely black then you can try to uninstall the driver and reinstall it again).

Here is how you can uninstall the driver and reinstall it.
1. Click on start, point to control panel and click on control panel.
2. Click on Add/Remove icon and select the printer driver and click o remove.
3. After the un-installation wizard is complete close all the windows and disconnect the printer form the computer.
4. Insert the driver disk in the Disk drive and install the driver.
Note: Do not connect the printer to the computer until the installation wizard asks you to do so.

If the document prints fine, you will then have to check the setting of the software programe that you were trying to print form earlier or even you can try to uninstall and reinstall the program to fix the issue.

I believe that the above mentioned steps will fix the issue however, If the issue is still not fixed please keep me posted with the latest information so that I can provide you further resolution steps accordingly.
