SOURCE: Panasonic KX-TG2740 Cordless Phone - Can I reset handset registration

press function button on handset, scroll to initial setting, select by pressing right arrow, scroll to registration, select, select hs registration, follow directions on handset display, pressing mute on "new" base station, and ok on handset(plugged in). If you like, you can unregister with the "old" base unit first.

SOURCE: I have a Panasonic KX-TG6051CM

I had the same problem, and it seems that the battery charging circuit in the handset had locked up, constantly charging the battery until it overheated. I was able to reset the circuit in my handset by completely draining the battery. Here is the procedure:

1. Remove the handset from the charging cradle, and leave it on for a few days until the battery runs out, and the handset finally turns off. At his point, the battery will be very low, BUT NOT COMPLETELY DRAINED.

2. Next, you must manually drain the charge remaining in the battery by shorting out the two contacts on it. Shorting won't damage the battery, since it is holding very little charge at this point. An easy way to physically do this is to remove the battery, and place a piece of thin wire across the the two contacts of the HANDSET. I am referring to the contacts inside the handset that connect to the battery, NOT the contacts on the bottom outside that connect the handset to the charging cradle. Next, put the battery back in, sandwiching the wire between the battery's contacts and those inside the handset. This will hold the wire in place. DO NOT PUT THE HANDSET BACK INTO THE CHARGER, WITH THE BATTERY SHORTED OUT.

3. Wait about 30 minutes for the battery to completely die. Remove the jumper wire, and but the handset back into the charger.

4. If the battery was fully discharged , you will get a message on the handset telling you that you should let it will charge for 7 hours. If you do not get this message, then either the battery was not fully discharged, or your problem is different from mine. Try the procedure again in Step 3 for another 30 minutes to discharge the battery some more.

5. If you get the "Wait for 7 hours to charge" message on the handset, then leave it in the charging cradle for the 7 hours requested. After that, it should work fine.

Let me know how you make out.

Panasonic kx-ts880mx display not working, but when I pick the receiver then work

Hi,

please power cycle the phone unit and check for the display screen when it's on the base again. If still having the issue, please attempt a factory reset of the device. Then, you can setup the phone just as you did when it was brand new. Otherwise, you might have to keep the receiver off of the display in order to allow the screen to show data as it used to.

Thank you.

I have a Panasonic KX-TG5633. It has worked fine for several years. suddenly one of the handsets no longer syncs to the base. I've followed the instructions to register it to the base, but it refuses to...

I am so tired of all the answers that don't help by repeating standard answers that you already know won't work or giving directions for a totally different product. The fix here is simple but not easy. It's either a bad charging/battery connection, a bad battery or both. Low power will cause the exact problem asked here.

As the phones get older, and I'm specifically talking about Panasonic cordless KX-TG563x but this may be true of other rechargeable devices, the metal contacts for charging and battery do not make a good connection like they used to. They may look perfectly fine and free of corrosion but are not actually making a good connection.

Symptoms include the phone getting hot while charging and not holding a good charge. The phone may show 3 bars of charge but still blank out like the battery is dying. With these Panasonic phones, weak battery will cause the phone to unregister and will give false charge level readings in the display. If your phone gets hot when charging, this is most likely your problem.

I had this problem with several handsets and used contact cleaner on the charge base, the phone contacts, the battery contacts inside the phone and on the battery itself. It fixed all the registration, heating and charging problems. I had one stubborn handset I had to clean multiple times but it's now working like new as well. I used DeoxIt contact cleaner from Caig, bought it on eBay. Great stuff. If repeated cleaning of the contacts with a good contact cleaner does not fix the phone, replace your battery. Use contact cleaner on your new battery for best connection. Ebay is a good source for replacement batteries as
well. Good luck!

Model#kx-tg6071b when talk button is pushed, screen shows" no link to base move closer, try again". That is what appears on both handsets.

Press MENU, scroll down to INITIAL SETTINGS (press select), scroll down to REGISTRATION (press select), then select HS REGISTRATION, and follow the instructions on the handset screen. This is for the KX-TG6071B, but is similar for most Panasonic Cordless phones. That will link the handset to the base, and YOU MUST DO IT WITH EACH HANDSET.

Panasonic KX-TG6051M 5.8 GHz -Caller ID view problem

I have a panasonic KX-TG6051CM 5.8 phone with 3 handsets. After less than a year 2 of the 3 handsets developed the same problem, almost in the same time ( a couples of hours apart). The battery indicator shows low battery and is charging continuously even though the battery is fully charged ( when i swap the battery with my 3rd handset, the battery indicator shows fully charged and works fine ). The handsets were never dropped, never used in a moisture ladden environment ( like bathroom ) and when not in use they were kept in the charger. Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.
