The red led on the front of the unit flashes. unit will not turn on and led doesn't turn green. is this a power supply issue?

Hello,

The power supply board of the Television is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

I hope this will help in solving the problem.....

Compaq Presario SR2150NX doesn't turn on. Front panel green light turns on but nothing else happens (no fans, no boot, no noise, nothing) Please advice

On the back of the Power Supply there should be a Green LED, When you power it on if it is flashing, this means that the Power Supply is dead and you need to replace it.

Pana TH-52PWD8UK. No picture, flashing red LED on front panel

Thanks for the quick answer. I purchased the set in 2005 and it lives outside under an overhang on my patio in humid South Florida. Unfortunately, I couldnt count the red flashes before it went completely dead. Think it was 4or 5. This would correspond with a possible fuse failure on the Power supply. I bought the online service manual, I just wish I knew what to do with it!! The fuses both seem to check out ok on a continuity check. any ideas? Thanks, Charlie

sounds like you need a new motherboard. Try to reset the bios with the jumper (or remove the battery and unplug it) and see if that does anything, if it doesn't start looking for a new mb.

Hitachi 32LD8700 - TV won't turn on although has power

The general problem with LCD type TV's is that the power supply fails. They are very sophisticated designs that are difficult to troubleshoot and generally best to just replace the module, but sometimes there is visible damage in some of the electrolytic capacitors (visibly bulged) and high voltage rated parts can be substituted.
