Question about HP Photosmart C6280 Printer

1 Answer

Will not print from PC, but goes through all the mechanical actions. will not scan and print solo. Have downloaded and installed drivers from HP about 12 times (I'm stubborn) plus doing a complete factory recovery on PC two times then downloading and installing drivers from HP; still nothing. took it to a repair(?) shop but they gave it back after collecting 'standard shop fee'. whoopeeee!!!!!!!! was printing ok until I ran down the black ink I put in new cartridges for all colors, but still no go. have done the restore factory defaults that came installed in unit (printer), but still nothing. I'M BUSTED JUST DON'T KNOW EXCEPT SOME PART OF THE PRINTER MEMORY OR SCAN AND PRINT CIRCUIT IS FRIED...BUT DON'T KNOW HOW AS I ALWAYS USE A CIRCUIT PROTECTOR AND TURN IT OFF AFTER USING THE PRINTER. GOT ANYTHING???

Printer malfunction

Diagnostic pages are usually internal to the printer- not generated in the PC. Scanning and printing can also be PC Independant[ like printing photos from media cards in ther stand alone mode - No PC required. So go back to the printer. Go to start/printers and faxes- dig out out the driver CD and reinstall- make sure when this is going on you direct the comm away from LPT1 to a USB setting. Do that then come back.
