Not all pumps can be converted.
If you open the back of the motor that you are trying to wire, there should be a wiring diagram on how to wire the pool motor either 220 to 110. Its relatively simple to follow, since you are only going to be connecting 3 wires.
Without knowing the manufacturer of the motor, the size, or the style, it is nearly impossible for us to walk you through or provide an alternative schematic.
Take a look and see if there is a wiring diagram, if not, go ahead and gather the additional information off the motor and come on back to us.

There is nothing that you can do with respect to the 220 volts vs. 230 volts and fortunately, it does not matter. There is no voltage adjustment that you can do.

The 220 volts comes from TWO DIFFERENT 110 volt lines. Typically, your breaker will handle that correctly for you, be sure that both breakers are bridged, mechanically, so when you turn one off, both go off (prevents electrocution).

Its a water pump for our house and barn pumps probably close to 300 to 400 gallons a day over the course of the day was wondering if it is wired for 220 if using it with 110 will ruin it

Unless the pump motor has provision on it specifically for running on 110, then yes, running a 220 motor on 110 will ruin it. It will cause the motor to overheat, if you can get it to work at all. Some 220 motors are designed so that you can run them on 110. If yours is, it should have instructions and a wiring diagram for that. Even if it IS designed for 110 or 220, running it on 110 WILL cause it to run hotter, and will shorten its life.

My pump (pentair whisper flow 1 hp) has been making noise for about a year. Then it started making a clicking noise on top of that, and I knew it wouldnt last but a week. A day later it never came back...

Based on your description of the breakers you should have 230VAC to the pump motor. Even if it is only 115VAC you should still get a response from the unit when powered on. A 230-connected motor will run on 115 for some time but will overheat and eventually fail. If you are getting nothing you have issues with the power as well as the pump. Get the $40-$50 multimeter and check your line voltages to ground and line-to-line. You will find a problem somewhere.

And to answer your other question...yes, connecting 230VAC to a motor setup for 115 will burn up the winding.

Your pump is protected by a thermal device that shuts it off when over heated. Are you running 110 or 220? In my experience, your pump will run cooler on 220 ... consider coverting if appropriate.

Need wiring diagram for 1081 motor,1.5hp.I want to change from 220 to 110.

What is the reason you want to change? 220 is not only stronger ... it is cheaper to run. If wiring is a problem, (this pump should be on its own circuit) simply replace the single pole breaker with a double pole and take the existing white wire and turn it into a "red" wire for your 220, (put the white (red) wire on the second pole of the new breaker.)

If you will remove the cover on the back of the motor, you will probably find a plug that you move from the 220 position to the 110 position. Change the plug from 220 / 20 amp to 110 / 20 (or what ever the motor will require) Normally, when you change the voltage in this direction (down) you send the amps up by 2 times. What I mean is if the motor uses 7.5 amps at 220, you will be using 15 amps at 110. Make sure you have at least #12 wire for a little extra safety.

A o smith b854 motor schematic diagram 115v . How do I hook up 115v to the factory set 230v?

Remove the back of the pump housing ... inside you will find the 110 volt connection place.

If your pump is on a dedicated line (as it should be) run it on 220 VAC ... To convert your line from 110 to 220 all you need is a double pole breaker of the proper amperage ... take the white wire presently on the ground bus bar and put it on the other side of the new double pole breaker. Then you will have 220 ... and you will save a few bucks on electricity.

Does it matter if use 220 or 115... looks like i have 25 amp in the box with gfi.. need connect the wire to back of the motor.. outside i have the big circular 3 pronged connection to the outlet... do i...

220 VAC is more efficient ... so there is some cost savings in the money department. Volts X amp = watts generally ... there is still a savings because you will actually consume fewer watts at 220 (watts is what you are purchasing form the power company)

Wiring depends going to use 110 or 220? if 110 ... black is hot and goes to L1 ... white is nutral and goes to L1.

If 220 ... black is hot and goes to L1 - white is hot and goes to L2.

Your owner manual has a good picture and description of this.

In the plug ... 110 - neutral should go to the left slot.

Is your breaker 110 or 220 (single pole or double pole - one slot or two slots)

These voltages are not compatable!

I suggest you use this pump at 220.

Assuming that your Sears submersible pump Model
M4DO2B-01 can pump water at more than 25 feet
elevation. You can run it even without a manual. Just connect your discharge hose up to the point of discharge. Use a 220/110 volts transformer with a rating of at least 3KVA. Connect your 110 volt line to 110 outlet of the transformer and the submersible pump to 220 outlet of the transformer. This 3KVA transformer can handle up to 1HP pump.Send your
e-mail for further assistance.
