Question about Whirlpool GGW9250PL Gas Dryer

Open Question

I have a whirlpool duet ggw9250pw3 dryer that is working intermittently for a few weeks. When it's not working none of the buttons work and none of the leds light up. If I unplug it for about 5-15 minutes it starts up fine all buttons are operational and will run complete cycles. It eventually stops working after a few hours. Is there anything that will cause the control panel to "lock up" and only cutting power off will "reset" it. If I don't unplug the dryer it stays locked, even if I leave it alone for a few days. If I unplug it and replug without waiting 5 minutes or so it will not work. Only works when I unplugg and come plug it after waiting at least 5 minutes later. I have opened up dryer and checked both connections going from ERC to controll panel and continuity seems fine. What are the chances that the problems is the controller panel? Or is it a problems with ERC? Is there something else that can be causing this issue.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Duet gew9250 - Control Lock

The most common reason for this type of complaint would be a failure in the user interface board (UI), if the portion of the board has a short circuit across the lock trails it will demonstrate this symptom.

The fix would be to have the UI replaced. Part number is
8558753 Platinum
8558755 Biscuit
8558756 Pewter

The cost for the part alone is around $160.00 plus labor to install.

I know this is not good news. sorry....

My duet dryer model GGW9250PW3. front loading, won't start.

It is probably the thermal fuse (start fuse) located on the blower wheel it's white about 2" long with two blue wires going to it. Try that first.

Gas duet. Mod: GGW9250PWO Ser: MR3604435. Front panel under Status: "Control Locked" light is lit..nothing else works, including Control On button. Dead. Can the dryer be reset??

is the other lights DIM(partially lit)?
If so it could be one of the following.
1.) Intermittent ribbon cables between the control board and the Interface board (one with the buttons) Reseat all four cables.
2.) faulty control board.
3.) faulty Input board.

Strange issue with my gas dryer and the control panel I am having a strange issue with my dryer. I have a Whirlpool gas dryer, Model: GGW9250PW0; and am having issues with the Electronic Control (mfg part 8558753). Yesterday, I went to go use the dryer and I press the "Control On" button like normal, but nothing happened. I did not get any lights or anything, yet when I open the door, the inside light comes on. I have a similar model washer plugged into the same electric outlet and everything there works fine. After researching the issue out a bit, I took off the toe panel and took off the duct-lint (mfg part W10128606) so that I could reach the wires connected to the dryer thermister and dryer thermal fuse better. I then took the wires off both of those as well as disconnected the sensor wiring harness (mfg part 3406653) and used a vacuum to clean out any lint as well as compressed air to clean off those connectors. I re-hooked all the wires back up and plugged the dryer in. I pressed the "Control On" button and all the proper lights lit up. I then pressed the "Cancel" button to turn it off, unplugged the dryer, and put the duct-lint back on. I plugged the dryer back in and tried the "Control On" and "Cancel" again, and it still worked. I then put the toe panel back on, pushed "Control On", then turned on the dryer using the "Hold to Start" button and everything worked like it used to. Here is the strange issue I am having. I ran a load in the washer and when done, I put in the dryer and tried the "Control On" button. Everything came up, but when I pressed the "Hold to Start", nothing happened. I then tried to press the "Cancel" button, and nothing happened. I could turn the knob and the different lights lit up, but none of the buttons seemed to be working. After holding the "Cancel" button for a few seconds it turned off the panel lights. I then pushed the "Control On" button again and had to press it a few times before the panel lights came on. After a little bit of playing with the buttons and knob, I was able to start the dryer. I stopped the dryer (didn't want to run it the whole time in case something is wrong) and tried to start it again. I can get the panel lights to come on, but it seems like the buttons are sticking and not fully working like they should. I don't want to have to buy an expensive part unless I absolutely need to and wanted to see if anyone can think of anything else that might be going on or that I could try before paying almost $200 for a new Electronic Control, especially if I will still have the same problem after replacing this part like some other people have reported. Thanks!
