Call the tech support for your computer. The backplane lamps and or the backplane power supply are defective. You will have to have the computer serviced to get the screen lit again.

Why do i have a white screen on d1210 portable dvd player

That will be the screen driver chip faulty or even the luminance set too high. Try turning the brightness down and if there's a dark picture it's the chip, if not maybe even the flexi strip from the base to screen.

Screen will not stay bright

That's the battery saver feature of that Philips portable. If you use an A/C power adapter, the light will stay bright.

Hope this helps!

When I am watching a dvd with a dark scene it seems to get even darker almost to the point where I cant see anything. The light scenes are fine. Is there a setting I can change

try adjusting your brightness a little highter up and if you have a LCD tv you can adjust the backlight through your picture/video/image settings in your On Screen Display menu to your television

Screen is dark

If it uses the same technology as a laptop screen, there is 2 backlights behind the screen, they are like very thin fluorescent tubes (cold cathode) and there is a power supply that these use. It may have gone out like many PC's bad displays. I think it is due for replacement or an operation if you are skilled enough. Might just be an unseated ribbon cable which can be fixed by yourself.

Display light is dark

I have seen this problem before this is caused by a failure of the backlight which provides illumination for the LCD screen. You may also want to check the inverter also since it fails often and interacts with the backlight.

COBY TFDVD5600 Portable DVD Player without display in monitor

If you shine a torch into the screen and see the picture then the backlight has gone and needs replacing, although it would probably be cheaper to buy a new dvd player.

Half the screen is dark

Sounds like half your backlight is not functioning. The only thing I suggest is to call the manufacturer thats listed in your user manual and see what they think it will cost to repair unless its still in warrantee. There are no user serviceable parts inside of this unit so i dont think it would be a good Idea for you to attemt to take it apart as it may be a system to dissasembly and you make tear or break on of the small flex cables. Good luck
