I had the same problem in 2007: I removed the cover and manually encouraged the cd drawer to open. It has been working ever since.

SOURCE: Display doesn't work on TEAC PD H300mkIII

I had the same issue today. I found that opening the unit you can see that there is a white ribbon cable connecting the head unit to the main board. removing this cable and re-inserting it the connector fixed the problem. The display now works again...hope this helps

it sounds like it is the motor that spins the disk most likely not worth replacing unless the unit has high sentimental value to you

SOURCE: TEAC CD P1120 wont play

replace the loading tray belt as this also lifts the laser mechanism up to the level of the disc once loaded.
the humming sound you hear will be the motor trying to lift the mechanism up to read the disc but can't because the belt has lost its tension and is slipping.

My TEAC CD-224E plays some DVDs and I don't now how 2 make it play the others like DVD optains one movie or more

If your DVD player is set to a DVD region, then it cannot play DVDs from other regions. You are allowed to change the DVD region only four times, then the DVD player will lock permanently on that region.
If your DVD region is locked then you can install a program that will allow you to play DVDs from any region.
Please click on this link for details of a DVD region program :-

Sounds like you made a data disk with MP3s and not an audio cd.

To play on a "regular" CD player, you should burn an audio cd.

Different burning programs have different options for this.

Probably a codec problem on the notebook. rather than a drive problem. Try a 3rd party media player such as Real Player or Quicktime

Generally something that is time related with a CD player indicates that there is something stuck in one of the gear teeth that drive the laser back and forth to play different areas of the disc. A very small piece of dirt/sand can get inside and stuck in a gear tooth preventing the laser from moving past that point on the CD, in your case it's about the 40 minute mark........you can try skipping to say the last song on the CD which will advance the laser unit a bit more quickly than if you were to let the disc play through, that might dislodge the piece.
Another scenario could be a cracked gear in the same drive area. This is not as likely as you say it plays for 40 minutes or so. There is a piece that is attached to the laser which has gear teeth in it that mesh with the gears that move it, I'd suspect it's in there.
Make sure you do not have the player plugged in when you open it, the laser is capable of damaging your eyes.
