"The Charge Indicator Light is located immediately to the right of the power button on Roomba Red and Roomba (sage). On Roomba Discovery and Discovery SE, the Charge Indicator Light is incorporated into the power button. Please refer to the table below to determine what the Charge Indicator Light is telling you.

No beeps: A wheel is stuck or is not touching the ground. Pick up the robot, place it down securely on the floor and touch the clean button to restart the cycle.

1 beep: The main brushes cannot turn. Turn over Roomba and remove the brush guard by pushing the two yellow tabs. Remove the brushes, clear any obstructions, and replace them again.

2 beeps: The side brush cannot turn. Turn over Roomba. Look to see if something is wrapped around the side brush. Remove the side brush with a screw driver and check for string or hair that may be wrapped around it.

3 beeps: The vacuum cannot run Remove and empty Roomba?s bin.

4 beeps: A wheel motor cannot run Your Roomba may be stuck or something may be wrapped around a wheel. Look for something wrapped around the wheels. Push them in and out and make sure they turn easily.

5 beeps: The cliff sensors have failed or are blocked. Turn over Roomba and clear any debris that might be caught underneath the front bumper in the cliff sensors. You can also use compressed air to clean them out.

6 beeps: Wheel obstruction or robot attempting to drive over an obstacle. Turn over Roomba and remove any obstructions that prevent the wheels from seating all the way up into Roomba?s body. Also, remove any obstacles that Roomba could drive over.

7 or 8 beeps: Not applicable Roomba?s beep codes do not include 7 or 8 beeps. If you are getting an error with 7 or 8 beeps, try counting again or contact iRobot Customer Care.

9 beeps: Sensor error Please contact iRobot Customer Care.

10 beeps: Roomba is stuck Pick up Roomba and start it again somewhere else. Use a virtual wall or other barrier to keep Roomba away from the
place it got stuck.

Your Roomba may be experiencing an issue where the battery is deeply discharged and may need to charge longer than the standard 3 hours. (or 7 hours if you have a standard charger)

Even with the charging light showing green (this indicates a fully charged battery) the robot is still charging. If your Roomba exhibits behavior where it charges for a short time then runs for a short time you will need to do the following.

1. Plug the charger into Roomba (if you have a home base be sure to plug directly into Roomba instead of using the home base, this will ensure the robot's charging cycle is not interrupted.)

2. After the Roomba's charging indicator goes to solid green please keep the Roomba on the charger for an additional 72 hours. (3 days)

3. After the 72 hours (3 days) has passed, turn your Roomba on and begin a normal cleaning cycle. If this works successfully it may take several uses for the battery to get back up to the performance it once had.

I starts and tehn stops and beeps three times. I can start it aain and it will run but then it does the same thing'


Hi,

TYhe iRobot Roomba has different model designations. Here is a webpage with a list of what the beeps mean in the 400 series. I am thinking that is what you have. 3 beeps means the dirt cup is dirty, filters are dirty, or debris in collecting and it needs to be cleaned.

Machine just rotates same spot in a circle


I just repaired my 530 roomba last night. I used a sewing machine brush and cotton swabs. On the bottom of the roomba there is a face plate with four screws. Loosen each of these four screws and remove the face plate. DUST EVERY OPENING YOU CAN SEE, but do it gently. Use NO chemicals. Then there is the area that holds in the brush and roller cartridge. Again, loosen those four screws and remove the corner brush's screw and completely remove that little brush. Then you will carefully remove the "case" holding the brush and roller cartridge.DUST EVERY OPENING YOU CAN SEE. Wipe all the silver contact points..plates on the bottom of roomba and one inside the brush and roller cartridge. At this point, I dampened a paper towel ever so slightly with some window cleaner and wiped and dried those contact points. Then using the brush attachment on my vacuum I gently went over all areas of the body of the roomba to dislodge even more dust. Once that is done, reattach all the parts in the reverse order of how you removed them. I charged my roomba overnight and this morning she was charged and worked as if she were brand new! Status light is red, why? I have a Roomba Discovery.


Hi.

If the red light is solid, that means that the Roomba is near to full discharge. If the light is flashing red, then the Roomba is completely out of charge.

If the Roomba is fully charged, then there may be a fault.

Here full list of light codes:

My roomba 560 has brushes that spin one rotation then stop then you hear a click and they rotate one rotation stop over and over. I took compleatly appart cleaned, lubed, and inspected all looked good?


I thought my brushes were clean, but here is what I discovered, and it fixed my Roomba.

The yellow bearing on the opposite end the brush rollers from the gearbox will pull off the shaft. These bearings spun freely and looked clean, but when I pulled them off there was hair and junk between the end of the brush and the back of the bearing. When installed in the Roomba this gook warms up and gets sticky causing friction and stopping the brush from spinning.

Use a toothpick to pull this stuff out and the brushes spin free again. I was very frustrated, and this fixed it, works like new again.

did you replace the filter? when you remove the dust bin there is a small filter that needs to be cleaned, or replaced. You can buy a maintenance kit that replaces the brushes and filters as well, its good to replace them all regularly

Brushes not spinning....


My status light came on, the vac beeped twice and stopped. I noticed my brushes weren't spinning. I took an eyeglass screwdriver and took off the center screw that holds on the brushes. I cleaned the shaft that the brushes spin on. replaced brushes and it works great! I just did this now and it is still running. my status light problem is fixed my roomba is 4 years old and I am on my 2nd battery. Seems to have fixed the problem. FYI it was wrapped with hair, dirt and it was greasy.
