Question about Digital Cameras

1 Answer

How do I transfer photos from my computer to the digital fram memory card I'm having no joy in downloading pics from my new Technika SH-C350 digital camera. I have XP Pro V2002 Service Pack 2. The camera's user manual which is on its CD says I should just open the DCIM folder and my pics will be there, but I can't find this darn DCIM folder anywhere. The camera itself isn't loading as a device - whenever I run the camera wizard, it fails. Should I take this back to the store and buy a less obscure make of camera?

Well, I got around this problem (not a fix though) by (1) taking the SD card to a Klick shop and after being persuaded to buy a personalised Mug, found that they hadn't copied all my required pictures to their CD; then in desparation, I used my son's pc which has a card reader slot already on his tower and as his system contains a DCIM folder, hey presto, up popped all the pictures held on the SD card! Not fixed, but until someone tells me how to solve this problem, I'll just use my son's pc!
Many thanks! dinah_m

If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. I Have a Technika SH-C350 Digital camera.Every time I switch it on all I get on the screen is Media Error.I cannot take any pictures.

Have you formatted the card in the camera? Download any pictures from it first using a card reader if necessary because formatting will erase it.

Pics exist but may be damaged

First of all, recover lost files from memory card
1. Do not save any new file to memory card.
2. Connect memory card to computer. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in My Computer.
3. Download best photo recovery software from here
this asoftech photo recovery program help me before, works quite well and it's easy to use
4. Install and open asoftech photo recovery program, select your memory drive, and click 'Start' button to start scanning process which will find your photos.

After you get back your photos, you can format the memory card to fix the problem.
