Question about Kenwood Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

My DP-48 CD Player is erratic. Sometimes it plays and can search, memorise, replay and do all I ask of it. Other times, it cannot even play the first track but keeps revolving over and over. Please note: it is NOT a faulty CD, since the machine can misbehave or behave on the same CD. Can you help?

Same thing is happening with mine, its old asf and won't play a CD without skipping the entire way through, I recommend you just reset it by unplugging it for a day with the power button on, that might help reduce any static buildup in the ribbon cables. Anything from over 20 years ago will have many ribbon cables, which build up static causing electrical errors in the unit. I usually just turn it off for a few hours and then it works fine. But if that doesn't work, it's probably the spinning mechanism, since it's so old, the motor probably needs lubricating, if it's rusted or bent, then it is unfix able. I only recommend this if you didn't plan on taking it to a professional AV repair store. I hope you get to read this as I realize your post is from 7 years ago. good luck.

The CD player is failing to track the CDs accurately and is likely to become more erratic over time.

My action replay ds leaves the start screen but then just goes white even before it reaches the main menu.i tried blowing on it it and it still does the same thing

Hello dijanilaplac,

There can be many problems with your Action Replay DS. Try taking the Action Replay out of your Nintendo DS Lite Console, and look at the part those goes into the DS. Make sure nothing is bent, or missing. If something is, it might mean you may have to have it repaired, or replaced. Also keep in mind that sometimes Action Replays can be sensetive, so don't move it around while playing, or it may cause your DS to freeze up.

If you just bought this Action Replay recently, it should have been supplied with a CD to insert into your computer. You should install Action Replay onto your computer. When you have been brought to the main Action Replay Code Manager, find your USB and Action Replay plug in. Plug the small end into the top of the Action Replay cartridge, and the USB into the computer. Now a New Hardware wizard should have popped up on your computer.

When prompt, select, "Install from specific location.", then click next. Then select Search from CD-ROM. Sometimes it may sound different, just select the one that says something about searching from a CD-ROM. After this has completed, reset your Action Replay.

If the problem persists, feel free to contact me, for questions, or replies.
Nate,

Sometimes i put a CD in and it will start to read it and then come up with CD error, is there any reason for this? Other times it will play it fine until you go to change the CD then you have the same...

Hi, It could be a scratched cd or a dirty lazer inside the unit. Any car wax or pledge works wounders on cd and dvds. And if it's the player you cold look for a lazor head cleaner. It lloks like a cd only it has fine hairs that brush of the lens of the lazer. good luck

Playing CD-RW audio CDs on Kenwood DP-J2070

try to play a song from original cds.
maybe you brunt it in mp3 file, or its a different format. try to burn your song to cd-r.
if still, try to use nero to burner..
if it wont play your original cds and burnt cds, then the optical lens or the board is broken.
hope I helped you.
