Speed test through the modem gives proper results. Connect a Fortinet 110c IPsec VPN and speed is tremendously slow

VPN connections are encrypted, this adds extra overhead to the connection and an extra place all data must route through.
Once connected to a VPN your speed is determined by the slowest connection between you and your end point (The site you're visiting, or the service you are using)
For example:
If your home / business connection is a 20mb but your VPN is a 1MB connection, then your speed is going to be less then 1mb once you connect through the VPN.

Encrypted traffic is usually a bit slower, however if you feel speeds are far slower then they should be, you will need to contact the vpn service provider and see if any settings in your VPN software can be changed to speed things up.

High speed dsl down load speed is supposed to be 3.0mbps download----.384kbps upload--but all i can get is .320kbps download speed---what is the problem?

this will depend on your internet connection whether wireless ethernet or dial up

When your ISP offers you a 1Mb connection, its megaBits not MegaBytes.

So for a rough guide of how MUCH you can download, divide by eight. i.e. 1Mb speed = 128KB of data.

So its normal for you to get 1.0-1.10 mbps download speed for the 10MBps connection that you have

you might need software if you want to speed your downloads up http://download.cnet.com/getgo-download-manager/3000-2071_4-10277023.html

hope this heps

My Samsung G2 Portable HX-MU032DC - hard drive - 320 GB transfer speed is only 1mb

not sure what transfer speed you are referring to
if its download speed this is related to your internet ISP modem/router and bandwidth speed

My internet speed has been reduced to 1mb from 3 mb since installing this motherboard. My router shows 3.5mb speed and my connection is 100mb duplex. Everything appears OK but the speed will not go above...

use speedtest.com site to verify download is stuck at 1mb

then check the lan settings for the hardware

goto control panel system and check the properties on your lan device

10mb could do this.. maybe

(1MB L2 cache, 2.13GHz, 533MHz FSB)
or
Intel® Celeron® Processor 550
(1MB L2 cache, 2.0GHz, 533MHz FSB)
or
Intel® Celeron® Processor 540
(1MB L2 cache, 1.86GHz, 533MHz FS
or
Intel® Celeron® Dual-Core Processor E1400
(512KB shared L2 Cache, 2.0GHz, 800MHz FSB)
or
Intel® Celeron® Dual-Core Processor T1400
(512KB shared L2 Cache, 1.73GHz, 533MHz FSB) spacer.gif

Check the features with Acer first and see if your motherboard model support that speed processor.

intel celeron M(mobile)530 (class) the 530 denotes the type of processor configuration, not a bus speed or anything else. The 64Bit architecture uses 530,523,and 520.

Level 2 cache memory is what is on the processor. 1Mb cache memory on a mobile processor allows the chip to process info quicker.

cache memory has nothing to do with ram memory except as transfer rate.

the laptop will support 2gig ram modules X 2 for 4gig total.
it can use speed of 667mhz max or the 533mhz clock speed.

You can use either clock speed and any sets of 2X512mb, 2X1024mb, or 2X2048mb just for best results keep the size the same and the speed the same...both at 533 or 667...both at 512mb, 1gig, 2gig,
