Hi bhuisingh, I pulled these instruction from the NVIDA forum for removing the drivers.

  • It seems a lot of people on the forums are getting error messages which can simply be solved by making sure old drivers are removed correctly. This isn't always the solution, but its certainly the first step to take in finding the solution. Also, I thought it would be useful to have a general guide on how to do it properly.
  • In order for new video card drivers to work correctly, you must first make sure that all old drivers for the video card are removed, as the old ones can conflict with the new ones, giving various errors when trying to run games ect.
  • Firstly, remove old drivers by navigating to device manager, and select display adapters, double click on your graphics card, select the driver tab, and select uninstall for your video card driver.
  • Download and install driver cleaner pro here http://www.download3k.com/Install-Driver-Cleaner-Professional.html
  • Once installed, reboot your computer and start in safe mode, run driver cleaner and select "Nvidia" from the drop down list to be cleaned. This will remove all remaining parts of the old driver. It should be run in safe mode as this has the best results.
  • Once cleaned, restart the computer. Install the new driver.
If this helps, would you please rate the solution. If this does not help, please leave a comment giving me more information on the problem and I will try to help you further.

How to disable integrated intel extreme graphics 2 and install a geforce agp video card.

In the presence of AGP Graphics Card, the system automatically switches the video output to it. Hence, there is no need to disable Intel Graphics. Just add the AGP Card and connect the AGP Output to the monitor.

Problem installation video card

Hello Virna, i have that exact graphics card and dell GX270 desktop here at home, tho it has been awhile since i removed the Nvidia PCI card for a more favorable AGP card. From what i remember, first check your BIOS (hit F2 on startup) and select integrated devices, scroll down and make sure your default video output is either PCI (if available) or AUTO) exit saving changes. If that yields no result. Plug in a second monitor to your old integrated video output, if you can view windows after bootup from there, then you can install the proper Nvidia display driver for windows Xp (available here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.19_whql.html ). After installing, right click on the desktop, select properties, display settings tab, and make sure the Geforce card is the main monitor and the desktop monitor. Click apply, unplug the integrated VGA output, and restart. Hope this helps.

Geforce 2 MX-400 (64 bit) with vista

Before you installed the Geforce graphics card was your monitor connected to a video output on the motherboard?
If this is he case you may have to disable the onboard video card from the BIOS.
You can check by swapping the monitor's video connector between each of the video outputs.
If Vista detects a video card and you had not installed the video driver, it would install standard VGA driver, you can then install the Geforce driver.

Graphics card problem

Hi rovin,
So you bought an XFX GeForce 256MB video card. You're board has 1 free AGP 8x video slot & 3 PCI (White opened slots).
You mention there is not slot for the new card. (What type of video card did you buy)? PCI-E, AGP or PCI?
The only slot you're board does not have is a PCI-Express.
Look in you're manual on page 1-7 for the location of the AGP video card slot.
94565e6.jpg If you bought the wrong card, exchange it for an AGP 8x or PCI.
The ASUS P5PE-VM uses a integrated Intel® 865G chipset with integrated Intel® Extreme Graphics 2 Technology, which uses you're system memory to function.
If you need a manual you can download it from Asus. Click on the link to open to the P5PE-VM download site.

I hope you find this helpful.

GeForce4 MX 420 Video Card

First question: Are you sure you have a PCI card?
there are several points here:
Make sure you have the monitor connected to the correct output on your computer. (In this case to the output of the graphics card, not to your onboard output)
If you have a PCI card set bios to PCI
Setting it to AGP means the computer is looking for a graphics card in you AGP-slot on you motherboard.

I cannot help thinking, that you actually have a AGP card in a AGP slot and that you computer is not working on onboard, but on AGP. But you can check which graphics device is used, in display properties (right-click Desktop, Properties, Settings)

Please post some feedback

Is my Motherboard compatible?

Try to find out what the AGP voltage is on the motherboard.
Some graphics cards use 1.5 volts and some use 3.
If it's a 1.5 volt AGP slot and you plug a 3 volt graphics card in, it either wont work or you could permanantly damage both card and motherboard.

Fx 5200 geforce graphic card

You did not mention if the board your running has an integrated video card on it. If it does & you have added the FX 5200 AGP you need to make a change in your bios. Set the bios to see AGP. Re-check the insertion of the AGP card. Remove the video card. Use a strong flash light & look into the AGP slot. Use canned air & blow out the AGP slot. Re-seat the video card evenly into the AGP slot. Try again.

This motherboard has an 8x AGP slot. So any 8X AGP graphic cards will suit this mobo. As your local reseller for any 8x AGP based graphic cards from ATI or Nvidia.

Problem with ASUS Geforce 6600, 256MB, AGP8x

Its most likely drivers. Completely uninstall all Geforce drivers and and software. Some video uninstall programs only remove the software and not the drivers. You'll need to go into device manager and uninstall the video drivers from there. Double check to make sure MX440 drivers are gone as well. When you restart and windows wants to install your new card, cancel it, then run the Geforce setup program. That way you won't get conflicts with a windows basic driver. Then make sure you have Directx 9c installed. Directx 10 isn't necessary because I don't believe the 6600 supports it anyway.
Good luck
