My computer which is a Compaq doesnt seem to have a slot to put the sandis adapter in. What do I need to get so that I can download music to my lg banter phone?? Please let me know what its called and...

By "sandis" adapter I'm assuming you mean SanDisk adapter. SanDisk is a company that produces flash memory for use in cameras, phones, and other portable devices. The adapter you're referring to adapts a Micro SD card (that fits in your phone) to a Standard SD card. The device you're looking for is an SD Card Reader - although they're generally found as part of a MultiMedia Card Reader. This is a device that plugs up to a USB port on your machine and allows you to access various types of removable media. Fortunately they're readily available and can be found at most large retail stores for under $15. I'm posting a link below to one available from Amazon.com just so you get an idea of what you're looking for. Best of luck!

Where do i put it in my lap top

It depends on whether your laptop supports SDHC, microSDHC, or neither.

1. Supports MicroSDHC: check on the manual the position of the MicroSDHC slot.

2. Only supports SDHC: you need to purchase an adapter - essentially a full-size SDHC with a slot where the MicroSDHC goes. Plug the micro card in the adapter, plug the adapter+card into the SDHC slot.

3. Neither: you need to purchase both a micro-to-SDHC adapter and a SDHC-to-USB reader (usually SDHC in supported in most "XYZ-in-1 readers", like Quanta 32-in-1 USB reader - check out "SDHC USB reader" in eBay, for example).

Mitsumi 7 in 1 card reader

There are two cnnections required on the back of the card reader.
One is for the Floppy drive. It is flat and wide cable.
The other is a black cable with a smaller connector. This is a USB connector that needs to be plugged into your motherboard.

These USB connections are usually near the bottom right of the motherboard where you connect the power switch and LED lights. They usually have 9 pins. See this link and loko at the third picture so see what i'm talking about.

If you don't have a USB connector on the motherboard.. you'll need to purchase an extension card or an adapter that will plug into a usb outlet on the front of back of your computer.

Best wishes...

Generally card readers will either come with a built in driver, or it would come with a driver disk. You may need to visit the website of the card reader to check for downloadable drivers is possible.

Imstalling internal card reader

Well, installing an internal card reader without a spot on the motherboard, is a little hard to do. I would suggest buying an external card reader. They are a little cheaper, and a lot easier to setup and use, since they just connect to a USB port which all computers have.

Motherboard

All of the internal card readers I've seen either: -have built-in media converters which in turn plug into standard connections (USB, Firewire, ect.). -have their own PCI card with an appropriate connector for your card reader. That card plugs into your motherboard. Is it possible you card reader is missing something or perhaps was designed for some other motherboard?
