Question about Insignia IS-LCDTV32 32 in. Television

Open Question

My insignia tv has volume problems and I am not sure if I need to return it or if it it something easy I can fix. Essentially almost as soon as it is turned on the volume disappears. It will continue to go in and out intermittently with times varying in between. It leans towards not working the majority of the time. If i use the digital box remote to turn up the volume eventually it'll come back, but almost immediately the sound will cut out again. As far as I can tell all wires etc are secure. The tv worked fine for the first hour or so after I bought it.

SOURCE: Sound and Volume trouble

I bought my Insignia 32" LCD in November 2007 - same problem. I figured out that if you press the "input" button on your remote select any of the other options "component 1, composite 1, etc.. that you're TV isn't on -then press "input" again and go back to the component that you're TV plays on - you'll have volume when you go back every time. I've gotten so used to doing it now that it's become habit. 9 times out of 10 I have to do it.

Try to follow the inverter to backlight connections---either a loose or damaged plug (look for any plug with tape on it at the plug first) or on the board that powers the lights a bad solder connection or connections where plugs connect.

Also some tv's have an option for sound limiting as far as max volume and steady volume.
