Question about Dell Inspiron E1705 Notebook

1 Answer

I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop. The battery is testing as full; however, my laptop will not power on. I have removed the battery, let it set for 2 minutes, put the battery back in and have tried to power it up...nothing happens. I've plugged it in and nothing happens. The bluetooth symbol lights up in blue above the keyboard and the #9 lights up in green. The A and the Down Arrow boxes are flashing green. I've never seen this before and I don't know what it means.

Hi, Your computer power up but no monitor display as i understand. My advice is to remove the battery and remove the memory card cover, remove the memory card clean the memory card connectors with pencil eraser and wipe with cotton with alcohol and reinstall the memory card and the cover. Reinstall back the battery and press the on /off switch, It should power up and you will have display. I hope this will help you to solve your problem. Have a happy New Year... HRH

DELL E1705 model. When connecting AC adapter, even before pressing power button, led in power adapter goes off immediately. Why ? The power adapter is OK. When connected with Battery, no switch-on.

Since the system is not working ion both battery and the adaptor it could be a faulty motherboard.. Call dell @18006249896 if you are in warranty.. Contact local tech if thr\e system is out of warranty....

Dell Inspiron E1705 battery light flashes 4 amber lights, then 1 green. The battery seems to charge.

The ambar lights are warning you the battery is becoming to dead, it means in a short time, if it has not happens now, the battery won't retain the charge anymore, it is time thinking in a replacement if you use your laptop without plug in the power outlet.

Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop, my screen was full 17" but now its like 13" viewing area? What setting changed and how do I put it back to normal viewing?

There must be a key called "fn" in your keyboard. Hold on it and press the square indicated key in the f-keys at the top. You have shrunk the screen size. This must reset it.
