Question about Video Game Consoles & Games

1 Answer

My WII while playing an actual game works just fine. However when no game is loaded, viewing the main menu, or trying to access the internet there is no vertical sync. It rolls mercilessly! Any ideas?

I solved the problem myself. I had the WII and a DVD player hooked to the only input on the TV through a switch. The switch was causing the problem. I've come up with another way to connect the two devices to the TV. The WII is working fine. I actually informed FixYa of this more than a week ago. I'm a little disappointed in light of that that you're still wondering if your resolution worked, which it of course did not, being not the problem.

Hi,

Just reset the system to factory settings.
Turn the power back on and when you see the the safety screen open the small flap on the front of the wii console. Inside you will find the red sync button. Press and hold the red button down for 15 seconds.

* Then remove the battery cover from the wii remote, inside you will see another red button.

* Press and release the red button, the blue lights on the remote will start blinking.

* Quickly press and release the red sync button on the wii console.

* The remote will stop blinking and it should now be synced.

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

My horse & me comes up & I can accesse the menu & main menu applications, but when trying to load ride or any other applications for the main game & minni games will only show a load screen...

First, make sure the disk is clear of scratches or any sort of debris that would make it unreadable. If that doesn't work, go into your Memory Card settings in the Menu and delete any file associated with My Horse and Me. This will place your game disk back to factory settings and enable you to play it as though you just picked it up from the store.
Your Wii might also have a full HDD, so check to make sure there's enough space on it to actually save something to the console. You may have to delete some of your save files.

How do i get wii shop chanel

Hello

To get to wii shop channel first you need to configure your system
Configure your Nintendo Wii for a wireless Internet connection. The only way to access the Wii Shop is by having an Internet connection and a wireless router. The Nintendo Wii has a built-in wireless router that can pick up signals from wireless Internet connections. Make sure that your wireless Internet router is close enough so that the Nintendo Wii can pick up a signal.

Loading Wii Shop;
Use your Wii remote to select the Wii Shop from the main Wii channel menu. The Wii Shop is located in the top right-hand corner of the screen. If your Internet access is not set up yet, then you will be prompted and automatically brought to the Internet Configuration menu. Once your Internet is set up, you will either be brought back to the Wii Shop or the main channel menu.

Navigating the Main Menu
Look at the main Wii Shop menu. Here you will be given two main options with a couple of general options at the bottom of the screen. The first option is to look for games for the virtual console. The Virutal Console contains games from past systems like Turbo Grafx 16, NEOGEO, NES, Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64. Once you have loaded the virtual console menu, you can search games by most popular title, new titles, system, genre or price. When you have found a game that you are interested in, press the "A" button to see a more detailed description with a couple of screen shots, and find out how many Wii Points the game costs.

Wii Points
Purchase Wii Points directly through the Wii Shop by using a credit or debit card. You will use the Wii remote to point and select all of the card holder information. The minimum amount of Wii Points you can buy is 1,000 for $10, so if you want a game for 700 Wii Points, then you will have 300 points left over for future purposes. Instead of using a credit card through the Wii store, you can purchase a Wii Points card at a local retailer. These cards come in different point values, and 100 points represents a dollar.

Downloading the Software
Finalize your game purchase by confirming how many Wii Points will be deducted from your account. Once you have done this, the game download will begin. While it only takes a few minutes to download, you can see the progress by watching a Mario character jump and hit a brick. Once he has reached the third brick, your download is complete. From there, you can continue to shop in the Wii Shop or play the game.

Wii Ware
Check out the other option that is labeled as "Wii Ware." Wii Ware is a lot like the Virtual Console, but everything created here is new and original for the Wii. You can get updated channels like the new Photo Channel or get exclusive Wii Shop games like "Midnight Pool" and "Family Table Tennis." The games here actually are interactive Wii games, and you can get the full game for a lot cheaper than a new Wii game from a store.

When iload a game it does not show on the wii menu

You may have to upgrade the Wii system menu - is their system older than this year? We ahd the same issue this AM with Super Mario and Punch Out - connect your Wii to the internet and then
Just select the System Update option in Wii System Settings. This will update it and then they will work - if these are new games this year - our system was a 3.1 and it has to have the Wii system 4.0 for these newer games. Working fine now - give it a try...

Plays only one game without problem.

Red means taht your wii is completely shut down

Amber means that it is basically in sleep mode, however if you have it connected to the internet wirelessly it will still get updates while in this mode.

By holding down the power button for 5+ seconds it will go red

Just tapping the power button will make it go Amber (sleep mode).
