Hi,

Please try the following to master rest your unit and clear all error codes. Hopefully it is just frozen in error, and there is nothing wrong with it.

1) unplug for 24 hours.(crazy but this is how to do it...)

2) before plugging back in, hold the POWER button.

3) Hold the POWER button for 60 seconds and unit should reset

If the problem persists, read below :-

The F60 error is a general error code usually related to a failure on the video processing board. This is an easy error to correct by simply replacing the board. You can recognize this board as the small board with the onboard HDMI port in the ES40 model, and has the mini cables connecting to it. It floats above the rest of the boards in the middle back of the machine.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Panasonic DMR ES40V Err message, DVD won't play or record

I had a similar ERR message and freaked out a bit for a week. Panasonic customer service was no help and suggested i send it in for VERY expensive repair. No way. After tons of additional research and trouble shooting I fixed my unit tonight. I downloaded the DMR-ES40 DVD Recorder Firmware Update from the Panasonic update and stored in on a CD. Put the cd in my dvd player following instructions from the website. My system is restored and works well again.
Why paid personnel at Panasonic could not tell me this is beyond my understanding.
Try updating you firmware as I did. Hope you get the same success. -Tamara

Panasonic DMR-ES46V shows F60 Error

I have same problem with es40v - f60 error with no response to troubleshooting protocol. This machine also was used very little & also has a history of turning itself on. Panasonic used to make high quality products. A shame that their products are no longer trustworthy. I can understand that machines break - i'm very frustrated to learn replacement parts are not available. Guess i need to re- think brand loyalty.
