This model has speakers. If you are trying to connect external speakers i.e. a home theater system, receiver or a sound bar you have a couple options.

This television only has hdmi inputs so you cannot connect the external speakers with hdmi cables. The television would have to have and hdmi output.

Now in order to use hdmi you would have to connect all your devices to the home theater and then go hdmi out from the home theater to one of the two hdmi inputs on this television. Then you would leave the television on that hdmi input at all times and switch devices with the home theater remote.
All the devices would be connected from their respective outputs to a respective input on the home theater.

Another option is to connect a fiber optic cable from the television to the home theater.

Another option would allow for stereo sound but not the higher quality surround sound. You can connect from your televisions red and white RCA outputs to the RCA input on the home theater.

How do I make my TV play in Telefunken 5.1 Home Theatre THT-6000HDMIA speakers?

Does the TV and system have either a coaxil or optical sockets? If it does then I would connect them by one of these. That should trigger the sound. However it might work via the HDMI if you have selected the system to pass digital signals via that connection.

I am getting no sound out of my Panasonic Viera TH-50PX80U Plasma TV

Are the speakers' cables connected correctly? (p. 37) Is "Sound Mute" active? (p. 13) Is the volume set to the minimum? Is "Speaker output" set to "Off"? (p. 22) Change "SAP" settings. (p. 16) Check "HDMI 1 in", "HDMI 2 in" or "HDMI 3 in" settings. (p. 22)
Hope this helps, page# refer to your manual.

How do I connect my receiver so that the sound comes from my speakers????

Please read the manual. You should connect speakers to the speaker output of the receiver, or amplifier. You connect the TV with a receiver through a HDMI cable. Depending what would be the source from that you take the output and the place the signal is going to there you should use the input. Don't connect anything without 100% certainty it is correct. You could damage the whole equipment when connected the wrong way around.

Magnavox LCD tv external speaker

Hello
The jack you describes here "Digital Ouput Device To" means, you can connect these jacks to the output of a digital device, such as DVD or so. It is meant for to get signal into the TV, not ot out.
HDMI [High Definition Multimedia Interface] is a type of connection, which the TV an be connected to any HDMI device from outside. Both the above said are, signal in to TV connections. Not out.
If you want to connect this TV to any amp or any other external audio devices; look for any audio out option is there.

Hooked up HDMI cable from receiver to tv, no sound coming out of speakers, am/fm works through speakers fine, is there something I need to do with my tv to make it work, and does it matter which HDMI port...

The HDMI ports on your television are not audio ouput ports, they are same as component INPUT, but with all in one cable. The only way you can connect your tv to your stereo is by adapting the headphone jack on the side panel of the tv. Get a mini 3.5 mm y-adaptor to two rca female connection, now you can hook to your stereo using white & red L-R connections analog.

No other way to connect this. Refer to page 29 of your instructions manual.

I cannot get any connections through HDMI cable .Tried various cables and also units dvd recorder player etc .Seems to be HDMI plug at back of tv tried all 4 TV just out of warranty

Hi, Do not use 2 connections for 1 unit. Like when you connect RCA type cables and HDMI to -geather. I believe thats why you can not get HDMI to work. Most manuals say not to connect 2 cables on the same unit. read manual for more info.

I just bought a Panasonic TV model TC L37E3 and I do not know how to coneect my external speakers. Please help me as I feel very frustrated by now. Carlos

Carlos, I just bought an LCD tv too. To connect external speakers to mine I had to buy some high end 5 channel pc speakers and connect them through the headphone jack(I know how stupid that sounds considering we spend $1000.00 on a TV and thats my only option for external speakers.I looked at your owners manual and didn't see a headphone jack though so you may have to opt for speakers that plug in with through the usb port. Some new tvs won't support external speakers unless you use complete home theater surround sound system which will connect through the rca cables (red, white)

No audio sound from HDMI connection from TV to Onkyo 606 amp.

you have the output of the receiver going to the input of the TV?

i believe that you should be running the TV output to the receiver input to get your sound from the TV to the receiver and thus speakers.

the easiest setup is to just run your cable box and DVD player HDMI's into your TV inputs. then run another HDMI from the TV output to the receiver input.
