You'll have to reset your router to factory defaults and the configure it all over again.
To perform the factory reset, press and hold the recessed "RESET" button on the back of the router for 15 to 20 seconds. This will return the router back to default factory settings.
Use the web interface or the software that came with the router to configure the router again with a passphrase and change the administrator password.
For more detailed instructions, read the user manual.

I lost my net gear n150 cd and i want to change my password..

How to View or Change Your Wireless Network Password Symptoms:
  • You have lost or forgotten the password to your wireless network
  • You have lost or forgotten the password for the router, access point or other network device
  • You left the default password or used a weak password and someone has hijacked your network

Depending on the router, you can either view or reset the wireless network password (also referred to as the passphrase or security key) if you can log into the router. Some routers mask the wireless network password, so while you cannot recover it, you can enter and save a new password.

If you cannot log into your router because you have forgotten the router password or your network has been hijacked, please refer to "Lost or forgotten password for router or other device" below.

To view or reset a wireless network password:

  1. Log in to your NETGEAR router by browsing to http://www.routerlogin.net or http://www.routerlogin.com. Enter the username (admin) and password. By default, the password is password or 1234 unless it has already been changed.
  2. From the left-hand navigation menu of the Router Manager, select Set Up > Wireless Settings.
  3. From the center screen, select your encryption type from under the Security Options heading.
    • If the wireless network passphrase is visible, review it and use it to log devices onto your network.
    • If it is not visible, you can change your wireless passphrase; however, changing the passphrase will cause you to lose your wireless connection. Connect your computer to the router with an Ethernet cable before entering a new passphrase into the text box and clicking Apply.
If you cannot log into your router:

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default username ("admin") and password (either "password" or "1234" depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings.

NOTE: Restoring factory defaults on a device will erase any customizations you have made. You will lose any configurations saved to the device!

Lost my Wireless name (SSID) lost my Security Passphrase

1. Open your internet browser.
2. Type in 192.168.0.1 and press enter.
3. When prompted, type in admin for username and password for password. That should get you into all of the settings, where you can view your wireless network's SSID and security passphrase.
4. CHANGE your username and password. This is how hackers access your network!

Forgot passphrase

Are you looking for the wireless network key or password ?
Is there any computer online using the router.
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router.
If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer.
router set up page is the page where you can check all the router settings.
You will find the wireless network key or password on the set up page of the router.

Passphrase recovery

If you are using a Linksys Router like the one pictured hold the small reset button located on the back of the router while you are plugging it in. After it boots up the password should be the default and the wireless will be unsecure so it will have to be reconfigured unless you have saved the setup to a computer. password should be admin with no user name on most models.

Lost wep passphrase, can't navigate

There are two ways of going at this problem:
  1. Connect your computer to the router using an ethernet cable. Open up your router's configuration settings (the webpage used to setup your router). To do this, open a web browser, and type in your router's IP Address in the browser's address bar (i.e. 192.168.0.1). A window should pop up asking for a username and password. Enter your username, and password (if you haven't set a new password, the default log in is username:admin, password: (blank)), and then you will be brought to the webpage. Once you are here, look for the wireless-security area of the site, and go to it. Under this area, there should be a passkey/passphrase bar. You change it, or just see what it is.
  2. Use a wep passkey recovery software.

There should be a reset button located on the back on the router. Hold on that button for about thirty seconds or so and resetup the router with the password.
