As of this morning, I no longer have any sound on my HP Pavilion DV6910 Laptop. There is no longer any audio output device installed. It just disappeared overnite. I tried to install a download of the driver and restarted, but it still does not have any audio . Please help.

First thing to try is to go to HP.com and click on the "Support and Drivers" section. Choose to download drivers and software in Step 1, then in Step 2 area, just type: Pavillion dv6910 and hit enter. Choose your OS and then hit the + beside the audio driver and click the Download. Save that to your desktop and open/run it when it's done. Hopefully this will fix that.

If that fails, then Click on Start, right click on My Computer (Or just computer if it's Vista or Win7, you didn't specify the Operating System you have) and left click on Properties. Click the hardware tab and then click on Device Manager. Delete all of the sound/game controllers there and reboot the system. when it comes back up, ignore the windows about installing the sound/game devices and just run the sound driver software you downloaded earlier to your desktop. When the install completes, reboot again and you should be fine.

Hope this helps! Remember to rate this advice pls. :)
