Question about HP Pavilion DV6910US Laptop

2 Answers

I no longer have any sound on my HP Pavillion DV6910 laptop. There is a message next to the sound icon on my taskbar (which now has an x next to it) that says No Audio Output Device is installed. This was working fine until this AM. What should I do?

I am using hp pavillion dm4 1009 tu laptop and there is very less sound coming from speaker which is like unable to hear....... can u plz advise me on this.

You will need to adjust the device volume.

Go to Start>Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices
Then make sure the slider bar below the Device volume heading is all the way to the right (As close to the High setting as possible).
Then make sure the box next to Place volume icon in the taskbar is ticked. And the Mute box is unticked.
If you click on Advanced it will take you to all the Master Volume settings make sure these aren't muted where possible and check that the little slider bar is in the middle of the two speaker icons. This will make sure sound will come out of both speakers and not just the left or right one.

If these are already set and you still get faint sound then you should try re-installing your laptops audio driver.

First thing to try is to go to HP.com and click on the "Support and Drivers" section. Choose to download drivers and software in Step 1, then in Step 2 area, just type: Pavillion dv6910 and hit enter. Choose your OS and then hit the + beside the audio driver and click the Download. Save that to your desktop and open/run it when it's done. Hopefully this will fix that.

If that fails, then Click on Start, right click on My Computer (Or just computer if it's Vista or Win7, you didn't specify the Operating System you have) and left click on Properties. Click the hardware tab and then click on Device Manager. Delete all of the sound/game controllers there and reboot the system. when it comes back up, ignore the windows about installing the sound/game devices and just run the sound driver software you downloaded earlier to your desktop. When the install completes, reboot again and you should be fine.

Hope this helps! Remember to rate this advice pls. :)

How to enable bluetooth on hp pavillion laptop

Hey there,

If your particular model of HP has the bluetooth installed from the factory, turning on the wireless switch on the front left edge of the laptop enables the bluetooth, as well as the wireless LAN. A bluetooth icon should appear in your taskbar, near the clock, when bluetooth is turned on. Most of the cheaper versions of the DV6000 series do not come with the bluetooth module installed. The module can be ordered from HP Parts and installed by the end user, if they have a little computer know how. You would then download and install the bluetooth software pack that is available on HP's support website.

Hope this will help to resolve your issue with Bluethooth..

Cheers!!!!!

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.MY HP NOTE BOOK IS HP PAVILLION DV6910.IT,S POWER ON.THEN NOTHING HAPPENED.ONLY A BLANK SCREEN.......DON'T BUY HP NOTEBOOK................

You can try a few small things you could try like reseating the memory and booting without the battery, but MAJORITY of the time it's the motherboard with HP's DV series laptops.

Now's a nice time to check your warranty status here:

http://h40059.www4.hp.com/warranty/information/quickhelp.php

They just extended a number of the warranty lengths so even if you purchased more than a year ago you should check their site.

Sounds like Spyware or Adware causing your issues. Try scanning it using http://superantispyware.com/ or AGV Free.
