Question about Garden

May I use an electric blanket? I had a knee replacement 3years ago and like the soft feel and low, between 1 and 4 heat setting, of my husband's blanket. My e-mail address is susanhroth@att.net.

I had my knee replacement 9 months ago and living in New England, winter nights get chilly & I enjoy my electric blanket on low setting.
When my replacement knee is on the "up side" facing the blanket, I get a vibe from the blanket. Not a shock per say but a vibration feel in the titanium used in the device! The blanket is new. Now I just turn on before I head to bed & shut when I get in bed

Hi,

As long as the blanket is in good shape you should be able to use it...
I'm sure that the warmth is very good for your knee and feels very good also...

Just make sure that there is no waer and that none of the wires are exposed...

Hi can too much potassium cause fluid rention

go google and type in ---potassium and fluid retention---
the first site up states ---it may also benefit heart health (9)
potassium appears to help reduce water retention in two ways, by decreasing sodium levels and increasing u*ine production (10)
bananas , avocados, and tomatoes are examples of foods high in potassium
there are numerous sites that deal with water retention and the affects of potassium
as for your husbands condition, it would be far better to discuss the ongoing swollen knee and ankle and to ask if the potassium would help reduce the condition or would other procedures such as icing the knee when it is hot help reduce the swelling
I mention this because following a knee replacement, there is a lot of swelling in the knee and the specialist demanded an ice pack be used to reduce the heat ( the area around the knee gets hot during the healing process) and reduce the swelling

Only 1 side of my sunbeam H85KQ mattress pad will heat. How can I troubleshoot for a fix?

If your model has two heat control thermostats, its possible that there is a fault with one of the thermostats.
Worse would be that the electric cable that runs thru the blanket is broken.
You would need specialised test equipment to find where the break is, unless you can actually feel the cable is split when you run it through your fingers.
Normally, if the electric cable is broken, the blanket is not servicable, because you would have to cut into the cover material to try find the break and replacing the cable is impossible outside of the factory.

Did you get helped last year? If so please ignore. Otherwise....

Hi. You can locate a Sunbeam Service Centre via http://www.sunbeam.com.au/Pages/Support/Repairers.aspx

You're looking at $69,95 recommended retail.

BTW have you checked that it's not the blanket? Swap the controls over, if the problem follows the control it's the control. If the problem stays on the same side of the blanket, it's the blanket.

Also note Sunbeam has a 3 year warranty on electric blankets. If Date Of Purchase is less than 3 years ago call 1800025059 option 1 to speak to their Customer Service,
