I have a PS3, and XBox 360, and an HTPC connected to an IScan Duo. The Iscan is the hub of my system, and I the video signal is sent directly to the projector.

Only the audio signal is sent to the HTR-6190, via an optical connection. I selected the BD input. So, there is no video signal going to the HTR-6190. I want to use it only as an audio processor. I even don't use the amplifier part of the receiver. I connected 6 RCA video cables on the preout outputs(FR/FR/Center/RS/LS,and subwoofer.

I don't know if this setting can be the problem, but when I want to start the auto setup mode or select the manual mode, I can 't get pass the initial screen ''Set menu". I can move the arrow to auto setup, manual setup, system memory, and signal info, but nothing happen when I press enter!

I can't access special features, I can't specify the size of the speakers, ect. There are hundreds of options with this receiver, and right now I can't change one.

    Sir,

The remote is the model that you have indicated in your reply! Is it a known problem?

    Best regards

    Sir,

You have found the problem!!!. I have a Harmony Remote, and I just download the code to mimic the Yamaha remote. I was able to access the other menus.

    It is a 10/10 solution.

Thank you very much! I will check for a replacement as indicated.

    Best regards

Hello! There isn't a known problem with this particular remote...Since your the second owner the remote may have been damaged...The HTR-6100 is a classy unit with rave reviews, and zero reported faults in the unit itself...Most remotes are cheaply made...You could visit an audio store that sells your unit and have them try your remote...However I'm convinced it's defective and suggest that you buy a new one...

Setting up DVR, Receiver & VCR w/out cable box

For TV audio thru the receiver, you will need to run an optical cable or RCA analog audio cable from the "Audio Output" or "Monitor Output" on the back of the TV to the CBL/Sat input on the Yamaha. The VCR goes to Video 1 on the receiver and the DVDR will go to DVR/VCR2 on the receiver. If you want to pass Video thru the Yamaha to the TV, use the "Monitor Output" on the Yamaha if it's at least "Component Video" if not, connect your video sources directly to the TV and audio to the Yamaha. Hope this helps. If you need further assistance with this, post a comment and I will help you further.

Do I need to turn anything on to get the component monitor out?

If you are up-converting or down-converting, yes. Meaning, standard video or s video to component, or HDMI to component. Otherwise, component is passed directly. Check your "Video Settings" in the "Main Menu". If you still have a problem, post a comment and I can help some more.

HTR-5740 Subwoofer Hooking Up Issue

You can use a hi-level to low-level adapter. Just remember, the Yamaha does not send power (wattage) to the sub, just signal. You need to use a subwoofer that has an amplifier either externally or built in.

Hdmi in but no analog out

the guy was wrong. the analog and digital portions of the receiver are totally separate.

according to Yamaha:

"Be sure to connect your video components in the same way you connect your video monitor to this unit. For example, if you connect your video monitor to this unit using an HDMI or COMPONENT VIDEO connection, connect your video components to this unit using
the HDMI or COMPONENT VIDEO connection."

sorry bud:-(

PS3 connection to Yamaha HTR-6130 Av Receiver

URNOTME is right. HDMI is great and all, but wish i would have spent a few more dollars on a unit that supports switching. htr-6130 does pass-through, so you have to use seperate audio connections. really there is no use running HDMI into the receiver and then into the receiver and THEN to the tv. just go straight to the tv, then run your audio either optical (best) or coaxial.

No component video output

Hope this helps

The Yamaha HTR-6030 offers two types of video monitor output: Component and Composite. You may need to connect both types to your television as the HTR-6030 does not have composite to component video conversion. In other words, to view your VCR on your TV, you need to use the composite video monitor connection. However, for a DVD player or other source that has component video connections, use the component video monitor output to your TV. If your TV has both types, you simply switch between the two with your TV remote to access the proper video monitor output signal from the HTR-6030.
