SOURCE: yamaha v50 keyboard won't boot up
The 2013 button battery must be replaced to boot up. You should find or make a battery holder with two leads to replace the soldered in battery.

SOURCE: What needs to be removed from my Yamaha YPG-625 to
DO NOT open the case unless you are aware of and comfortable with the fact that you could _destroy_ your piano. Easily.
Observe appropriate anti-static precautions. It should go without saying that this is an electronic repair, and dangerous voltages may exist inside the case.
1. Remove the stand if you have one
2. Lay the keyboard upside down (bottom up) on workbench
3. Remove all 90+ screws from the bottom of the chassis, including the 14 inside the speaker compartments
4. Carefully lift up on the bottom case part, taking not to damage the speaker lines
5. Unplug speaker connector and set lower case aside
6. LCD is mounted beneath main logic board
9in the center), my problem lies elsewhere, but competent and cautious service technique should lead you where you need. I would strongly recommend replacing the LCD assembly module, unless you are experienced in LCD repair.

SOURCE: I have a Yamaha YPG-525. Everything is working
I have the same problem, mine is Yamaha YPG-625. This seems to be a common problem with Yamaha keyboards. I opened the 100 screws in the back, separated the main board from the display unit which is under it if you flip the keyboard upside down, to verify if there was any loose wires, nothing of the sort.
It is so frustrating, the keyboard is working fine but it is hard to navigate because the display is not functioning. Yamaha should do a recall as this is obviously something wrong with the keyboard happenning to a lot of people

SOURCE: reboot instructions for a Yamaha
Read about initialization on page 61 of your user manual. This is a factory reset. There are two procedures there. If you don't have the manual download it here:
