Question about Rinnai Digital Remote Water Heater Control Mcc-45-4us

1 Answer

I own a Rinai Integrity 2532. It heats the water for the in-floor heating. About once every other day on average, the controller switches the temperature reading from its setting (150 degrees) to 10 and does not come on at all until I reset the temperature. This usually happens overnight before the beginning of the in-floor heating cycle which starts early in the morning. What might be going on? The unit is six years old. Thanks

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

You have not said anything about error codes, Based on that. You may have a defective remote control, to replace the remote, would be the first step. it would be the lowest cost to you.

It's scaled
Do you have a softener? Water must be 15 GRS/PPM or less in iron and calcium. Hot spots in unit are boiling water and are causing the noises.
Descale and flush unit following Rinnai Specs and check water hardness for compliance with Rinnai standards because too hard an inlet water will VOID the Heat Exchanger Warranty (10 year).

Can I put my central heating on a different time from my water horstmann didam 425

It appears there are 4 trippers on the daily time dial that control all timing. 2 On and 2 OFF

On the right side are override switches for Hot water and Heating
You can only separate Hot water and Heater programming a little bit.
You can choose to have Hot water ON all day, or turn on-off once per day or turn on-off twice a day. Or OFF all day.
The Heater has the same options and the same on-off times as the Hot water.

Manual:
http://www.horstmann.co.uk/files/2513/9867/2118/user_guide_425-TiaraDiadem1.pdf

For fully separate programming, where Hot water and Heater can each be programmed differently, you would need a 2-channel controller like the Grasslin QE2

Rinnai 2532 error code 10

Error Code 10 Problem: Reduced or no air supply to the water heater or there is an obstruction in extracting the flue gases out.

Solution: Make sure that the recommended Rinnai venting is used, there is no obstruction in the venting system, no reduction in diameter and lengths are per instructions. Also make sure that nothing blocks the venting system or fan, and that dip switch and condensation collar are set properly.

Good luck,

Marty

My boiler keeps running even with thermostat removed from circuit. It is a Raypak H1-133A thermionic heating system (pipes in the floor) about 15-20 years old. (thermostat is original, 50 years old).

I answered you previously with information that didn't help. I'm not answering for the $5, but to try to help you. It's been several days and I assume Raypak is not helping.
Possibly the thermostat closes a relay that is on the main control board, maybe this relay is stuck closed. Can you follow the wiring from the stat to the controller? Something in the controller is thinking you need heat.

We have a robbens underfloor heating system with a heatrae electric boiler on a floating floor system. The underflooe heating manifold has a grundfos Alpha + pump. What setting should this be at? Currently...

Venting of the system is when you re circulate the water or cooling fluid in higher speed to eliminate the air bubbles from the system.
If water circulate on a too higher rate does not have time to dissipate the heat so your floor is cold.
You need to go to 2 or even 1 depending on the length of the heating coil in the floor. Unfortunately the pump only has 2 speeds (setting 1 and setting 2) so whoever install your system had to calculate the length of the pipe for maximum efficiency. Try on 2 and if not satisfactory go to setting 1. If too hot on setting 1 then you can adjust the heat by reducing the amount of water from the shut-off volume control. It is a hit and miss situation, I know but unfortunately that is the only choice remaining now after the system is installed.

Too much water draining from Vulcan Electric H/W relief valve.

Dear Julie. Do you have an expansion tank installed? If so it is probably waterlogged. If you come home shower etc. use lots hot water then go to bed or leave the cold water in your tank heats and expands as it heats. In the old days a toilet ballcock valve would relieve this pressure but modern toilets with diaphragm valves wont so the pt valve relieves pressure. Installing an expansion tank on the cold water line near the heater will absorb the extra water & stop the pt valve from activating.

I need the manual for a Rinnai Infinity 26 hot water system

you can get it off the rinnai web site they have a spot on there to get the internet manuel,, but from what you are saying you may need to adjust the thermostat, or the temp, remember even though you will have endless hot water it still takes the smae amount of timed for the hot water to get to your faucet,, not only that make sure your shower heads aren't holding back to much water pressure, if you don't have enough water going thru the unit it will not stay lit, if will come on and go off, judt to dstisfy the unit,, make sure the filter is clear, on the cold side there is a cap screw if you take it off there is a screen in side you just pull it out and clean it and reinstal it,,

Need a manual for drayton tempus 3 heating control

I've ended up with a Drayton Tempus 3 when I bought my house, and I think this is how it works. It allows you to set 2 Timers (I'll call them timer 1 and timer 2) so that you can control Hot Water or Heating On/Off times twice a day. The unit has 6 buttons - 2 for Adjustment, 2 for Hot Water and 2 for Heating. The 2 Adjustment buttons allow you adjust the Clock Time, or allow you to adjust Timer 1 and/or Timer 2. NOTE: Timer 1 is the time refered to on the Heating / Hot Water Select buttons if you press "Once". If you select "Twice" on these the both Timer 1 and Timer 2 are taken into account. For example if you want Hot Water to come on Once between 8pm -10pm, but you want Heating to come on Twice between 6am - 7am, and 8pm -10pm, you have to do the following: Set Timer 1 to 8pm - 10pm, and set Timer 2 to 6am -7pm. Then select Once for Hot Water, and select Twice for Heating. Hope this helps.
