1987 gmc tbi starts surges and dies can hear fuil pump run and kick out could it be the fuel pressure regulator?

The pump will run when you turn on the key, however it build up to pressure and cuts off. That`s normal. If when you start the car it runs then cuts off it is more the likely the pump pressure switch that is in the pump itself. Be sure if you do this yourself to drain the gas and put on new clips for the hoses.

V8 vortec motor

when you first try getting fuel going. you may have to turn the key on and off a few times to build up pressure. if you can hear the pump working it will change when it builds up pressure. if its not then I would say you have a line leaking. check all your connections before you have a fire

My compressor comes up to 150 pounds and when it supposed to go to cycle mode it tries to pump again and get stuck between the two modes. it goes cylcle pump cylce pump.

The pressure switch will usually not let the compessor cut back in untill the pressure drops about 20 psi from cut-out pressure. This differntial can be adjusted by turning the differential adjustment screw. I would check that the switch is not faulty first. Look for switch model number under the cover and look for factory cut-out pressure. If the pressure range is different from factory specs, suspect switch is failing, or someone has tried to adjust the pressure. Dont take a chance with possible faulty switch on this expensive compressor. Switch is adjustable but you can replace for about $50. Good luck

When the tank is empyt the compessor comes on with no problem and runs until it's full, once pressure gets low the compessor should automaticly come on and refill, that"s when the compessor comes...

Hi mcfadden21...

Check and clean or repair or replace your compressor's unloader valve.
The unloader valve is suppose to discharge the compressed air from the tops of the piston heads to the outside to make it easy for the compressor to start when the pressure in the tank drops to the starting point.

I have the pancake 150 psi compressor. It starts to build up pressure and then when it get close to the 150 level it starts to bleed off the pressure. I checked all of the connections. It sppears it is...

To increase the life of your compressor you will need to lower the pressure setting of your pressure switch, or replace it with new one that will cut-out at 120. Most compressors have the pressure switch set to cut-out at about 125 psi. Lately, I have seen compessors being sold with factory set pressure from 150 to 200psi. Most single stage compressors can easily handle 120 to 125, however higher pressures are pushing the motor/pump to the limits. This is like driving your car at full speed everywhere you drive. Your car lasts many years because for the most part, you are only uning 20 to 40 % of capacity. Problem is that pressure switch is not really designed to be adjusted (factory set) but not impossible. Look for model number of the pressure switch itself and google for more info. If in fact it cannot be adjusted replace it with generic switch at lower setting. The lower the pressure cut-out , longer life of motor pump. Tiny hole in head is an unloader of sorts and helps the motor to overcome head pressure (yes, this method is less efficient than using pressure switch with unloader valve, however cheaper to build).

My compressor is working but my moter having loaded & burn i change another motor the same problem is happening. please guide me. thanks

The motor will run hot/overload if wrong size or too long cord is used. Also if pressure is set too high (most set at 125 ~ 135 at shut-off). In-tank checkvalve will also have effect on motor by loading the compressor at start-up. Easy test. Run compessor till you have over 100lbs in tank then unplug from power. At this point try to turn the motor /pump by hand, it should turn rather/very easily (this test is hard to do if the motor /pump is completely enclosed, you need to be able to turn the pump even if by truning the fan blade). If it does not turn easily let all the air pressure out of tank and then try to turn by hand. If it turns easily with tank empty try one more test. Run compessor till the pressure switch turns it off. Then unplug machine and turn compessor again by hand, should be easy. If not easy then unloader / checkvalve not working. The checkvalve could be leaking air back from the tank loading the pump. Replace parts as needed.

Mistral mss20 split a/c only cooling somtimes 4 about 10 m then

Sounds like your unit may be a bit short of refrigerant and the compressor is therefore cutting out on low pressure.
