You have to do one more thing to move this tractor without the motor running.
It takes two people to move the Revolution. One needs to sit on the seat and hold the forward pedal down. It will then freewheel.
So, brake off, both hydro release levers pulled (do NOT pull hard or you will break the springs) and the forward (right hand side, big pedal) pedal pushed down.
Any other question? I know this unit pretty well.

I am wondering how to release the hydros to free wheel the wheels on my grasshopper 1210? I also need a manual. Please help me.

There should be a release lever somewhere on the back of your tractor. The manual can be found here: http://www.manuals2list.com/grasshopper-1210-mower-manual.pdf

How to move a dixie chopper if the mower will not run

Without the model number I was able to look-up exactly where the following located but if it hydrostatic model then will be release levers for the drive wheel transmissions. Note it will not completely free wheel on hydros but will make moving possible.

Was mowing and the mower wouldn't let me move forward backward left or right. I walked behind the mower and found a coil with a hook piece underneth. Bought a new coil but don't know where it goes....

sounds like the hydro release rod, at back bott of mower, what this does is releases the hydro so you can push the mower around, then you have to release this and then your hydro works

Brand new riding lawnmower, stop on hill, set park break, ready to go foward and when I push foward pedal and release break mower free whells backward. has 1 hr. on it. purged the trans. per instructions...

Sorry to hear about your problem...you aren't the only one having it. Sounds like a hydrostatic problem or a pulley freewheeling on a shaft somewhere. If you bought your tractor at Sears they might could help you---the husky and are the craftsman are the same. Husky uses a little better engine is all. Hope this helps.

I have a craftsman lt 2000 I was mowing and put the brake on to pick up a stick, i never left the seat just bent over, then when I put it in forward (hydro stat) the tractor would not go anywhere, I check...

the brake mechanism is likely stuck, if you pull the hydro release rod and attempt to push the mower it should free wheel reasonably well, if it continues dragging then the brake shoes are likely seized, even though the arm may be free

I own a Snapper riding mower, hydrostat drive, 14.5 Hp, 38 cut. Reverse speed has suddenly been reduced to a crawl. Could it be the brakes need adjusting or is the engine/transmission shot?

could be a linkage came loose, or that the fluid level in trans is low, has nothing to do with engine but the hydros are prone to failure, also the hydro is driven by a vbelt which can stretch and mimic a trans problem

Craftsman mower won't engage in gear

not much information to go on, but we'll try - did this just happen after having a rear flat tire fixed? if so, the square key that links the axle to the wheel fell out, easlily happens if you don't know it's there - OR, the belt is off one of the pulleys - OR, the brake is stuck - OR, the bypass lever [on a hydro] is pulled out or not releasing fully
