Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

The brackets to hold the dishwasher back under the counter do not align with the holes that were drilled in the granite counter top for the old dishwasher. I do not want to try to drill new holes in the granite. Is there an alternative to fasten the dishwasher under the countertop so that it will not rock out. The model DU1055XTVS3.

You could have a handy person make some new brackets which attach to the new dishwasher's brackets with bolts but are made so that they line up with the existing worktop holes. You can probably use strips of soft metal with holes to fashion these. The dishwasher may have to sit slightly lower.

We are installing a dishwasher--have it hooked up but can't seem to get the leveling legs loose so we can adjust the height. Also, the anchoring peices of metal stick out farther than our countertop.

Hello, This dishwasher has the ability to be mounted to the cabinets on either side of the dishwasher.the mounting brackets can be moved to each side. If it must be mounted to the counter top, the mounting tabs can be bent by hand and it will break the front part of the mounting tab. This will shorten the mounting bracket. If you have granite counter tops do not attempt to drill into to the granite counter call a granite fabicator. The leveling feet are hexagon shaped at the top of the of the leveling leg. Remove the front lower toe kick panel. This will allow access to the top of the leveling legs, then use a small cresent wrench or a socket and rachet.Hope this helps.Joe Connolly

I have no way to connect to the granite counter top. Can it be mounted to the side cabinets?

Need prefix for model number. Need complete model number. I believe that the numbers that you have given are stock numbers from your user manual. Kenmore can be several different manufacturers. Some brands have kits to mount unit from the sides using brackets at the top. If stainless steel tub, look for removable plastic caps on the right and left sides of unit. These holes would be used for installing bolts into cabinet. If plastic tub and no kits are available holes can be drilled into sides to secure unit to cabinet. As long as heads of bolts(screws) are flush to allow door closing, unit will not leak because of tub(door gasket.

How do you side mount a bracket in the LG dishwasher? The model number is LDF6920ST. We have a granite countertop, so we are trying to mount the bracket inside the dishwasher as the manual indicated. ...

There is a hole on each side of the dishwasher about 6" down from the top and in-front of the rubber door seal, with round plastic covers in them. Just pop those covers out and the side mounting brackets align with those holes and the screws go into the wood frame. You may have to put some small blocks of wood on the wood frame to take up some of the space between the side of the dishwasher and the cabinet frame. Be sure to drill pilot holes for the screws to avoid splitting the wood.

I have a granite counter top and cannot connect the top holding brackets.

A side mount installation kit is available for most dishwashers. Be sure to pre drill the holes in the cabinets to prevent splitting. Sometimes the top mount brackets can be removed and used on the sides, check the installation guide or manual.

How do I properly secure the dishwasher to the cabinets so it does not move when I'm unloading it?

The feet should be properly leveled and either secured from the top to the counter top using 1/2" screws or in the case of granite tops use side mount brackets and pre drill holes in the cabinets to prevent splitting. The side mount brackets usually come with the dishwasher but you might need to order a set. I'm having my kitchen counter tops replaced with granite. I have a GE Model GSD700 dishwasher that is now attached to the existing counter top. The granite counter tops will not accept having a dishwasher...

• Purchase and install the GPF65 side-mount
bracket kit if the underside of counter is granite
or a similar material that will not accept wood
screws. The GPF65 kit is available from authorized
GE appliance dealers.

Also note that any stainless steel tub models would be able to accomadate granite tops without a kit, and I beleive all Profile GE models come with the kit included.

Need side mount brackets gpf65 because of granite counter top, model #ghda485n10cs ser# rm763786b, quietpower3 dishwasher

I don’t know your counter situation, usually you have to put dishwasher in a bottom cabinet and mount both side. Suppose you only have one side to mount, you have to go to home depot to buy a 90 degree metal mounting bar, mount the top part to your top granite support board, the bottom side mount to the dishwasher, it should be a ¾” plywood board underneath the granite, you can use ½” screw to mount it.

Hope this can help you,
