Kenwood Kdc-bt645u Car CD/ MP3 Player Logo

Kenwood KDCBT645 deck mounted into a 2000 Miata I have replaced the Sony deck in this car with the deck above ,most of the wires matched up to the factory plug .The deck works fine BUT the power antena does not work? I checked conductivity on the blue wire from the deck plug to the car plug and it is fine ,there was a seperate blue/white wire that was seperate from the main harness which I believe is an amp remote, but this car does not have an amp (unless the factory bose speakers have a seperate amp?) .Not sure what my next step is to determine the issue, in the manual for the new kenwood it shows the Ant cont (blue wire) but says not used ?

Use the Amp remote turn on wire, some units don't come with a antenna wire and as an installer we use the remote turn on instead.

Sub problem with kenwood deck

well sounds like you crossed a wire somewhere. I would go through all the wires and check all the fuses on the amp and car.

Kenwood CD player

Most car audio devices (like head units and amps) require a REM (remote) line to be connected to a switched power connection. This switched power is on when the car key is set to ON or Accessories.
Not knowing what Sony unit you had, I can't be sure, but it is likely your Sony had higher voltage preamp outputs than the Kenwood, as the KDC315 has 2V outputs.

Will 1992 miata side mirrors fit exactly on a 1996 miata

The above is a good explanation of accessing the mirror but to answer your question directly, yes, they will fit. All the 90-97 mirrors are interchangeable with the exception of installing later power mirrors onto a 90-91 Miata where it wasn't a factory option. They will mount up fine but do require enlarging the center hole where the wires need to run.

Trying to hook up last few wires and not sure what they are

Hello jtracer,

Here's a link to the Kenwood manual at Crutchfield.

Here's a link to the color code for the 2000 Dodge Durango.

If you are splicing directly into the vehicle wiring, just match up the wires from your Kenwood to the appropriate vehicle wire by function, not color. If you are using an aftermarket vehicle specific wiring harness, such as the Metra 70-1817, the colors should match up with the Kenwood wires.

Hope this helps.

Aftermarket Stereo connection

hi there
if you matched all the wires from the harness to the kenwood deck and its not working don't worry you just missed the last step........(all wires attached that a colour coded connected)
simply turn your car on.........now on the front of the kenwood deck there is a SOURCE button with all units it could be a (S, SRC, Power) hold the source button down till your kenwood unit powers up ..........if your unit still doesn't work check the fuse on back of kenwood unit should be a 10a fuse (blue) if the fuse is fine put the unit back in dash..........now check the fuse panel on driver side dash with the door open you will see this panel pull it off (some describe the fuse panel as looking like an air vent but its not its a handle to open) now on the panel that you just pulled off there is a fuse diagram on the inside look at it find radio fuse it will be a (blue fuse) located in the top row of fuses check it if blown replace and unit should work.............if this doesn't solve the issue than its a (sneaky) fuse not to many people know about if you pop the hood of your car there is a black plastic panel located just below the battery pins and just above the driver head light (usually black box with yellow writing on it......in this there are mini fuses check all of them do not touch the black relays in there just the small tiny fuses the fuse you will look at should be yellow 20a (this fuse is closest to engine and comes after the abs relay if you look inside the lid you took off it will have fuse locations cant remember which one it is for sure but check them..........now see if your kenwood unit powers up if not the last option is to ground to the black wire from back of kenwood unit to metal frame.............this last part is also done if your unit does power on but your car lights don't work if this happens ground the kenwood unit to the frame of car and open up fuse panel on driver side dash replace the blown fuse for lights or radio (make sure the kenwood unit is grounded to the frame before replacing the fuse in dash panel............if this doesnt help you than i would assume the kenwood deck needs to be repaired by kenwood.......
good luck
hope i was able to help and sorry this list is so long

Sony gtx 500 cd deck/ kenwood 8104d tuning

Set your HPF and LPF on the headunit to match the crossover on the kenwood amp.

I have the same amp, it's really not difficult to figure out. Try these settings, For the AMP: Bass Boost: 0 Crossover: 150 Level: 1

Now just go into the menu for your head unit and make sure you set the crossovers to 150 or whatever option you have, just make sure they match.

Simple.
