Hi chaps,

I did two things to resolve this issue

1. Downgrade the router to a lower version. If your router is Netgear WGT624 v3 use this link to downgrade your router

http://www.davejackson.com/life/cant-access-wifi-with-ios-6-on-iphone-with-netge ar-wgt624v3-fix/

(this help to avoid getting a errro message "Unable to join network")

2. Reconfigure you Wifi network by going to setting ---->under choose a network---> others-----> Enter your SSID name (seen at the back of your router) ----->under the security tab selet the same encyrption standard as that of your router which you can see when you log in to the router (usually router IP 192.168.1.1) ---->setup ------>wireless setting----> security option. This one helps you to join your home wifi as soon as you enter your home.

I hope this one works as it worked for me Trying to connect my iPhone - happy.gif

SOURCE: I have a new iphone

Hi rl1222,

I see that you are having issues connecting you new Iphone4 to your NetGear Router, and that other devices are connected to the NetHear without any issues.

Lets do disconnect one of the devices connected to the NetGear Router and see if the iphon4 will connect, if it connect then the issue is the setting for the wireless, Limiting a number of devices to connect to the Netgear Router, which can be set in the Router settings. See info below.

 • In your Netgear try checking the settings.
 • Make sure the the NetGear settings is set properly for the wireless conenctions, there is a setting which limits the number of Wireless devices that can conenct to your Router and it is most likely that your NetGear has it set to only 3 wireless device to allow wireless connection.
 • Since your iphone4 can detect the Router then it means that everything is set properly, and the wireless access is the only setting that needs to be changed.
To get to the NetGear setting you will beed to find out your Default gateway first.
 • Click start type CMD on the search programs and files portion then press Enter a black screen for DOS should show up, type IPCONFIG then press enter look for default gateway.
 • You may also need an ethernet cable to be able to access the Router GUI for the settings.
 • Just follow steps Above it should be under the wireless setting TAB.
I hope that this helps.

Have a nice day,

You probably need to make sure that your iphone and your router are both using the same 'standard' of wifi (wireless 802.11b, 802.11g, or 802.11n) The older 'b' and 'g' standards use 2.4 GHz frequency - The Newer 'n' standard can use 2.4 GHZ and also 5GHz for faster performance - I think the iPhone asks you to choose which frequency you want to use rather than asking you to type in 'b', 'g' or 'n'

Hoe can i connect my ipone to wiifi on my belkin router

Wi-Fi settings determine whether iPhone uses local Wi-Fi networks to connect to the Internet.
Turn Wi-Fi on: Choose Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on.
Join a Wi-Fi network: Choose Wi-Fi, wait a moment as iPhone detects networks in range, then select a network. If necessary, enter a password and tap Join (networks that require a password appear with a lock icon).
Once you join a Wi-Fi network manually, iPhone automatically joins it whenever the network is in range. If more than one previously used network is in range, iPhone joins the one last used. When iPhone is joined to a Wi-Fi network, the Wi-Fi icon in the status bar at the top of the screen shows signal strength. The more bars you see, the stronger the signal. Set iPhone to ask if you want to join a new network: Choose Wi-Fi and turn "Ask to Join Networks" on or off. Join a closed Wi-Fi network: To join a Wi-Fi network that isn't shown in the list of scanned networks, choose Wi-Fi > Other, then enter the network name. If the network requires a password, tap Security, tap the type of security the network uses, and enter the password. You must already know the network name, password, and security type to connect to a closed network. Some Wi-Fi networks may require you to enter or adjust additional settings, such as a client ID or static IP address. You can type it manually by login onto the Belkin's network page using the browser and by copying the static and dynamic IP address.

My laptop is connected to my unsecured wireless network via my linksys router, but my iPad and other laptop will not connect. I am getting an error message that says, "Unable to join the network...

I would try to set up the network with a new SSID due to settings being saved in some devices, and because someone else may have a linksys network set up that you may accidentally be connecting to.

After that, try basic security settings.

Also, make sure you don't have MAC address filtering enabled on the router. To check this, you will have to login to the admin area and look for MAC address filtering.

When trying to connect my iphone 3g to the wireless router i am getting the error message unable to join the network USR5461 even though I am using the correct password. what do i need to do to correct...

I wonder if your router is set to perform MAC address filtering. If so, you have to either find the MAC address of the iPhone's wireless card and add it to your router's appropriate list, or set your router to not filter by MAC addresses.
Just my 2 cents... Carlos

Connecting to network
The exact error message should be:
"Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you
on to the network [SSID]"
Google shows 37 hits with this exact phrase.
This is caused by setting the encryption to WPA-RADIUS instead of
WPA-PSK on the client radio. Both the router and the client are
trying to find a RADIUS server with which to authenticate your system.
Switch the encryption to WPA-PSK (pre-shared key) on both ends and it
will work.
Netgear 108 Mbps Router WGT624 v3

As you say that, you are able to go online with the modem, connect your modem- router and laptop witha cable and check if you are able to go online with the router wired first, if yes, then the w/ls settings has to be checked..open your w/ls network connection, remove your preferred wireless network and then try to reconnect again and check.. if you are not able to gon online wired with the router, disconnect power cables from modem- router , wait for 10 sec, and reconnect it , wait till all the lights come up and then reconnect, check if you are able to go online if not your router has to be reconfigured,,

plz check and revert back in case of any issues
