SOURCE: hitachi ultravision director's series 55"

****, sorry I don't have any solutions but I have the same TV, Hitachi 55HDX99 55 in. HDTV Plasma No Picture but the sound is ok. For about 6 months the picture would go out, I would unplug it for 10 mins and it would work for a week, but now the unpluging trick does not work any more. I have left the TV unplugged for 2 days and still no picture. lets stay in touch if one of us get any luck. my e-mail is pardeep@bangainc.com

SOURCE: I have an issue with a tv It is a Hitachi Ultravision Directors Series model #55HDV99. It has picture and sound, but the color is not correct. The reds and blues are missing.

Check the connection between your cable box and tv.
You should have five rca cables connected. Red, yellow, and blue. the other red and white is for audio.

Regardless of them passing the eye test. Push on each end to make sure contact.
If that doesn't do it you may have a bad crt, but you are missing red and blue that would be two bad ones at same time. Not impossible. Could just be bad solder connections as well.

Is there any way to use head phones on a Hatachi L42V651?

Yes... and no. The TV should have 2 RCA jacks for audio out (red and white). If you get a "y cable" from your neighborhood electronics store, you could patch it through to headphones. The problem is that the volume level is intended for input into an amplifier, so you might be barely able to hear the sound on your headphones. If you patch the audio into an amplifier, then you can definitely use headphones.

Replacing the front glass entails completely disassembling the entire TV. Your best bet is to look for a broken TV with a good front glass.

The power source detects an overload on one of its exits and shuts down to protect itself. The tv must be opened and tested by a knowledgeable person who can identify and replace the failed part.

The Convergence IC's need to be replaced. They are located on the Board to the right, mounted on a large heat sink. They should be replaced with STK392-150's. The original IC's are probably STK392-110's.
The Stk392-150 is a updated replacement. Be sure to use Heat Sink Compound between the IC's and heatsink because these IC's do draw alot of current and heat up alot. Also look for any heat stressed Resisters.
I hope this helps,

How do you hook up the wii to the HItachi UT 42 x 902?

Problem: Hooking up Hitachi UT42X902 to a Wii
Solution: Even few technicans understand the issue because they have a hard time comprehending the Hitachi UT42X902 Director Series only has 1 HDMI jack and no RCA connections. I have both a Wii and UT42X902. At one point when I had a 4-way call with Hitachi, Nintendo, and Onkyo trying to figure this all out. So after several miss-steps, here is what I did and it worked…

I ended up buying an Onkyo TX-SR606 AV Receiver Amplifier-Tuner which has "uplink" capability. (Do not buy the TX-SR506 or other Onkyo models they do not have the right uplink capability to work the Wii on the UT42X902 Director Series, I already made that mistake and the store would not take the 506 back by the time I got everything I needed to connect the system.) I then bought a off Nintendo market Red/White/Blue/Green/Yellow HD or HDMI compatible (for the Onkyo side) on one end and Wii compatible on the other (sorry I don’t remember the technical name for the cable but they are pretty common and Best Buy and other electronics stores have it). I connected the cable to my Wii and the 5 ended side of the cable to the Onkyo. My CATV satellite box and DVD player are also connected to the Onkyo with Monster 1000HD (10.5 Mbps) HDMI cables. The Onkyo is connected to the Hitachi UT42X902 also via a Monster 1000HD (10.5 Mbps) HDMI cable. The Wii works perfectly with this setup. You may have to go into some menus to set up the sound (I do not have external speakers yet). Good luck. I usually am not on this site but will try to monitor this site every few days for the next few weeks so post is you have questions, and I will try to help.
Disclaimer: I am not a TV tech and do not sell, represent any TV, Receiver-tuner-Amp, websites, cables, TV channels, services or other related products, nor do I own stock in any of these companies. I am a mere mortal girl who wanted to use her Wii Fit on her big screen TV.

Hitachi ultravision 50v500

there should be 3 sets of video rca jacks on tv or receiver they might have put them on the wrong rca jack in which they just need to be moved over
usually the 3rd set of rca jacks are component jacks not for tv or video but for low output signals say like cameras and only one set of rca's can be used at a time svg on one of them rca's will over power the vid's. so have no picture
