Many times the settings need to be refreshed and re set up. Press and hold the reset button the the router, and then log into the net gear's admin dashboard by plugging the computer into a numbered port on the back of the router, browsing to 192.168.0.1 and logging in using:

username admin
password: password

From there you can set up security settings. It's best to make sure you can get online wirelessly with no security settings first, and then add in security settings. If you mess up and, just log back in to the dashboard, or reset it and try again.

Try to access the internet but keep getting error code 051300


This is a common problem, first do the basics to make sure nothing has went wrong maunally, try re-typing the password if there is one. if not. just try reconnecting.

If that does not work, this is where it starts getting a little hard but usefull, go to your router and press the reset button, fix the connecting antenna towards your dsi and then try reconnecting with your dsi very close to the router, (dont worry you dont have to stay close to the router for very long) when it connects you can move but i reccomend you stay in the same room as the router, Your welcome plz rate :D

Reset and Restore the NETGEAR device to Factory Default Settings

Symptoms:

  • Forgotten/lost password to log into the NETGEAR device
  • Cannot access the NETGEAR device web interface

Reset for most routers with a reset button on the rear panel
Write down configuration information such as IP addresses, security keys, opened ports and services, etc., that you modified. (The default username is admin and the password is either password or 1234. Try these before resetting the router.)
  1. Press the reset button on the back until the test light blinks. This takes about 10 seconds. (To avoid accidental resets, the small button is recessed. Use a pen or paperclip to access it.)
  2. Release the button.
  3. Wait for the router to reboot.
  4. Log in with the default password. If the router configuration was not cleared, try these additional steps AFTER the router has finished rebooting.
  5. Unplug the router's power.
  6. Press and hold the reset button. While the button is held down, reconnect router's power.
  7. Continue to hold the reset button for 20 seconds after reconnecting the power.
  8. Wait for the router to reboot.
  9. Log in with the default password.

I had my computers networked by a professional app. 2yrs ago. we have moved and I amm trying to reconnect my Router, but I don't know the PW. Is there a way around this PW so I connect the computers? The...


First, try the default user name and password, which are both admin on linksys routers.
There is no way around this password, other than reseting your router back to its original settings. To do this, hold the reset button in on the back of the router for 10 seconds.

the wireless router settings must be wrong, try pressing down the reset button and hold it for alteast 30 seconds to reset the Wireless, ones that is reset try again.

Also can you tell me the brand and model of the router so incase the problem is not solved I can get you instructions.

Belkin Wireless G Router causes loss of internet connection


Does your router have one LED lamp for each "wired" port?
If so, does unplugging the Ethernet-cable (the one that connects to your desktop PC) cause the lamp to go off?
Does reconnecting that cable cause the lamp to go on?

Also, on your desktop computer, there could be a lamp right beside where the Ethernet-cable connects into your computer.
Again, disconnect the cable, and reconnect the cable, to see if that lamp goes off/on.

Have you tried a different cable?

Do *NOT* connect your desktop computer to the 'WAN' port on the router -- connect it to any of the "LAN" ports.

Try changing channels on your wireless router. Routers have configuration page where you can change the channel. Refer to your user manual on how to change the channel on the device.

You may also try moving the router to a different location or maybe on a higher location. To avoid interference.

If this model has a antenna, check its connecting with the router. Try resetting the router. Also some labtops have a worse signal reception strenght when they are not plugged in, so try plugging it in if you havent already.
