Water on door is not working

I assume the icemaker is working.
If you can hear the water valve in the back of the ref. when you activate the water dispenser and get no water I suspect the water tank has frozen.
The water tank is located behind the crisper dwares in the ref. section.
If tank is frozen it may be due to incorrect temp setting in ref. To cold causing tank to freeze.

If tank is not frozen the water supply line in the door may be frozen due a void in the insulation in the freezer door.

I have a GE model GSL22JFPH BS refridgerater and

Then the line in the door is frozen . Either raise the freezer temp for several days , so the line in the door will thaw , or , I have heard using an air tank will blow the ice out of the line in the door . There is a heater for the water dispensor tube , pt # WR49X10173 , which should keep this from happening again .

G.E. Side by side model quit dispensing water. The refrigerator door was not completely closed overnight. Is is possible the water line froze since the freezer had to run so much

It is possible the water line inside the freezer door froze . Remove the bottom kick plate and follow the white tubing about 6" to a coupling . Push in on the white ring and at the same time , pullout on the tubing . Push the water dispensor , and if water comes out of the hose going under the fridge , this means the line is frozen in the door . If no water comes out , it means the water tank at the bottom of the fridge section (behind crispers ) is probably frozen . A hair dryer should work on the tank , but , a different procedure will be needed to thaw the door . Come back if door is frozen for the procedure .

I have a GE Hotpoint Side by Side refrigerator Model #HSM25GFRA SA and have a problem with the water dispenser. I've switched out the filter with two new ones but still have the same problem - no water...

Alot of the GE refrigerators have problems like this. You either need to replace water valve on the back because one of the valves has stopped working OR the tube in the door has frozen and the door will need to be replaced. The best way to tell is remove the hinge cap on the bottom hinge and disconnect the little adapter put a towel down there and then trigger the water dispenser. If water comes out, the tube is frozen in the door. If not, replace the valve.

Water dispenser on GE side by side not working. what should the refrigerator and freezer settings be? Can that be the problem?

Dispenser controls on any refrigerator actuate one of two things. Ice disp, or water disp. If the IM is not working also, then H20 valve is bad. If just the H20 disp feature isn't working in the door, try this: remove food and unplug unit for 24 hours. Then, plug back in and resume normal operation. If all checks ok, you have a frozen water tank, or frozen water line. Fix: on certain model ref's, there is a water tank service flash where an antifreeze insulation kit should be installed, contact Sears or your retailer for this information. On others, this is simply a freeze up caused by lack of H20 usage or temps in ref/freezer set too low. If this does not fix the water supply, and you still have ice production after 2-5 hours after restarting the ref, remove the dispenser cover and test the water supply actuator switch for continuity. of open after drepression, replace switch. If switch checks ok, then replace water valve as on side of the solonoid valve assy is not functioning. In rare cases, you may have to check or replace the wiring harness. This can be tested only after elimenating the disp switch test, and calling for H20 from the disp, voltage at the disp wires to the H20 valve, but no voltage recieved at the h20 valve, or by an ohm reading of the wires.

Water dispenser does not work

most likely the water line for the dispenser has frozen in one of 2 places. the first place to check and the easiest is the water tank behind the crisper drawers in the fresh food compartment. what i would do is use a hair dryer to warm the tanke and see if it will start working again. the next place that is common for it to freeze is in the freezer door. the only way to fix this is to leave the door open for a while to allow it to thaw out.
If I'm not mistaken I think there is a recall for some of the  GE sxs refrig that addresses the water line freezing in the door. you may want to all GE and heck on that. good luck peyton

Ge side by side water will not come out of door dispense

The water switch went bad or the water valve. Switch the two wires on the water valve on the back of the ref. Press water switch on door if water fills ice maker valve is bad,if not, door switch is bad.

GE Fridge Not Dispensing water

First place to start is in the fridge. Look behind the crisper drawers for the water tank. It may have frozen at the outlet line. Try thawing it out with a hair dryer or a heat gun, being careful of course not to melt anything.
